OK so I can get a new PCM tuned for $150 +(s&h?) I keep the old one, and get a new tuned one...Do I need a "case relearn" with this one? Or for $99 +(s&h) I send the factory pcm get a retune and need no "case learn" right?

you need a case relearn for the one that hasn't been in your vehicle.

That's about right, maybe you can relearn for free and I've heard up to $75.

That is right..

Any time you take a PCM and put it in a new truck you need ot have a CASE relearn done. This will not adversely affect the performance but is highly recommended still.

AlvinPCMforless,

I would like the tune, I will most likely be removing mine and mailing it off to you all. I know it's the holidays and all. I have a second vehicle. What would the time frame on a turn around?

If I get a New PCM and a case relearn, I will now have 2 PCM that I can swap back and forth with out doing a case relearn?

If I goto the chevy dealer for maintence and they access the PCM will they end up overwriting your program? When I first bought my TB we took a trip to Mass. and the Trans seemed to be slipping, the dealer accessed the rear computer module (under the seat) and reprogrammed the tranny under a TSB I believe. It took about 10-15 mins The mechanic and I were BSing and it was done...This rewrote the program I assume. I am no longer under any warranty and will probably not goto the dealer for service but.....just in case..

We are out of the office till friday so keep that in mind if your sending your pcm for tuning. If you have the new PCM CASE relearn done than you won't need to redo it should you swap PCM's back and forth. Once the PCM is learned for your truck its learned for good.

Finally, if the dealer should happen to overwrite your tune we re install the tune for the cost of shipping.

Thanks! Hope you give us a shot!
