View Full Version : Loud vibration noise underneath while idle!!??

When I start the SS up in the morning, I can hear a very loud vibration coming from underneath the truck. It almost sounds like something is "tapping" at a very high rate. I've tried putting it in different gears thinking it was the tranny and nothing seems to set this noise off. It's almost if the fuel pump is vibrating or just very loud. Any ideas?? :confused:

Probably the air ride compressor... kicks on at startup until level...

It's the air compressor and should turn off within 30 seconds. If it doesn't, take it in for service.

You know what, that's exactly what it sounds like, an air compressor.
The SS has an air ride compressor? What in the world does it do? Level teh truck during hard cornering?

just levels the rear out.. start your truck and jump in the back seat, leave your door open you should here it right away..hope this helps.:yes:

My Envoy Denali has one of those. Start getting used to the noise.. I already did :crazy:
