So I recently made a post about how I thought my trans was acting up and how my brakes were vibrating really bad, most of you thought it sounded like the ABS.. anyways, the next day, my brake peddle did the same vibrating/thumping thing.. I have never had to use my ABS before so I wondered what were the chances my ABS would be used twice in 2 days? so on to the point..

This morning on the way to work I was applying my brakes as I went through a bump in the road. As soon as I hit the bump, I heard some kind of clunking noise, and my peddle thumped/jerked pretty badly. Something definiltey isn't right. Does anyone have any ideas what could be clunking around that would cause the brake peddle to do that? I am going to take it in to the dealer but would like to have an idea whats going on incase they cant replicate the issue.

Thanks!!

I'm not trying to say there isn't anything wrong, but the ABS will activate if you are trying to stop while going over bumps in the road. Mine does it when I try to make a stop and hit the bumps just right. It does feel like the pedal is pumping back and forth.

ya thats what I've been hearing, I just don't think that is the problem here. I believe the pedal is thumping much more than it does when ABS is working.
I forgot about this, but it feels like when I stop, something is lose and it slides forward when I hit the brakes, therefor causing the clunking/thumping noise, I am not sure how that correlates with the brake pedal though. It happens at the same time so I think it is related somehow.

i had a broken rotor once that caused a thumping under braking, did you look at all the wheels and rotors carefully? get under truck and check manually for loose stuff(careful it doesnt fall on you) find a nice stretch of empty road and beat on the truck if nothing breaks your fine!

You could have a loose rotor. I've seen it a lot at work recently. Also possible that a lower control arm is loose. Has it been aligned recently for any reason? They might have not ightened it up enough.

I have not been able to make it to the dealer yet! Luckily I have had no other problems what so ever so I'm hoping it was just some fluke thing.
