The 4WD switch on my 05 recently "popped out." I took a look at it and it looks like it broke off and fell out. Believe it or not, I can still use the switch if i'm careful, but I just put it in A4WD and left it there not wanting to risk anything else going wrong with it. It's going to the dealer within the next week or so to get fixed. I'm just curious to see if anyone else has had the same/similar problem problem with theirs.

The knob for the 4wd mode switch in my '06 Envoy has broken as well. Like yours, if I am careful, it works.

One of these days I'll go to the dealer to replace the knob.

My 06 TBZ had the switch fall out exactly as your did. I had 15K on the odomoter. Factory replaced it with a brand new switch. I did not even switch it aggressivevly. I switched it one day and it just fell out. Sheared off. Cheap plastic. Made in US or China? Who knows. Then at @5K, the swithc burned out and gave a fault. Stupid damned thing. No wonder the Toyotas get all kinds f rave reviews. A dumb plastic switch.
