I read all these post and I start to get a headache. Am I going to be replacing something that seems to go wrong all these TB's? Or is it just hit or miss. Are there any members who never have had a problem with their TB's ? Maybe there needs to be a thread about not having problems.

i don't think there are any major problems in the 04's. I've had a lot of small problems that all got fixed under warranty(like radio lights went out, condensation in my fog lights, etc.) But for the most part i think you're okay.

Never had any problems in my 04 at all. The only dealer service was for a PCM update. I have less miles on mine than you do though.

I am glad to hear no major problems. I really want my truck to be ready for the beach this summer. I didn't want to put money into it at then have something Major go on it and find that it is a Common thing so Thanks for putting my mind at ease.

Lucky dogs! :D Im not complaining- I love my 02 Envoy but here are the things that I replaced since I bought it in 2004:
Drivers side "memory module" - my heated seat and power seat died.
Wiper motor (even though the recall to put the seal on the wiper motor was performed the motor was already damaged and was "choppy")
Air ride compressor - according to my service history this is the 2nd one to go bad
Wiring harness for license plate lights
Front different bearings (2) and housing
Front passenger CV half shaft
Anything else thats obligatory for us T360 owners (end links, etc)
Before I bought my truck, the service history revealed:
Clutch fan replaced at 48,000 miles
Both control arms replaced under recall
Wiper motor replaced
Blower motor replaced
TCM flash and reprogram
Gauge cluster replace and reprogram
And to top it off, Im involved in the special policy adjustment for the I6 engine cylinder sleeves.. my VIN is right smack in the middle of the start and finish VIN's..
So now you have firsthand evidence that first year models can have bugs! lol. I still say this has been the most reliable, durable and trustworthy truck I've owned, its never left me stranded and I've fixed 99% of the stuff on my own (less the stuff that was done before I bought it and the memory module - the dealer did that) so I saved a significant amount of money. :)
I would say I rarely hear of problems with 2004+ Envoy/Trailblazers. It seems to be all of us 2002 and 2003 owners.

My wife and I have an 02 2WD TB LS and and 05' 4WD TB LS.
The 02' had the wiper motor replaced and the tail lights replaced per the recalls, I replaced the blower motor resistor pack. Other than those items everything else was normal maintenance but I do need to replace the sway bar links this spring. This truck has 93K on it and is a very early 02' model, built in 01'.
The 05' has had nothing done but normal maintenance items and it has 45K on it.

Rozmer, we are in the same boat :D My 02 Envoy (which also has 93k miles) build date was 2-14-2001. I had the tail lamp circuit boards replaced under recall also, I forgot to list that. So basically, Im assuming we are going to experience similar future problems seeing we are both early 02's with the same mileage

On the 02' I don't have to worry about the 4x4 problems, but I'm waiting for the inevitable fan clutch issue. It will be time this spring to change the tranny and rear end fluid again as well as new shocks, but these are maintenance items and don't count toward a vehicles reliability. All in all very happy with this truck!!!!

Just changed my trans fluid and filter yesterday. Pan slipped, made a nice new spot for oil absorb to go on the driveway  I did siphon out about 2- 2.5 quarts before hand through the dipstick but that stupid shield on the side of the transmission always catches the pan! Was happy to see that even though I changed the trans fluid at 65,000 miles and siphoned out and replaced 4 quarts at around 80,000 miles, the magnet barely had any material on it at all and the pan was still relatively clean. Not much clutch material or anything. This is from a good trans. maintenance plan.
Every since my fan clutch was replaced at 48,000 miles (previous owner, per the GM service history report) I havent had any problems -knocking on wood. I wonder if it was the "new revised" part? Its been about 50,000 miles and I've havent had a problem with it. Either way if it goes bad (and gets stuck on full on) Im going to attach wings to the 'Voy and see if I cant get that pig off the ground :D

:rotfl: Very funny! I have never seen any large buildup of gunk in the pan or on the magnet, makes me very happy. Looking for another 50-60K from this truck so I hope to not see any of the other issues everyone else was reporting. But I'm way past their milage for thes eproblems so I'm hoping (knock on wood) that I'm good and won't see them.

Mine has about the same mileage. Here's the list of troubles so far; sway bar end links replaced under warranty, blower motor resistor pack, both tail/stop lamps burnt out, it recently started the A.I.R. pump dimming problem and there's an annoying vibration that can be felt in the gas pedal that occurs around 1500 rpm under light load.
