Why is it that Chevrolet is totally oblivious to the needs and wants
of the consumers. Thousands of threads were posted on web sites
covering inherent problems and enhancements of the TBSS. The '07
model still has fog lamps flapping in the breeze (ignoring their service
bulletin 1794288 to install a bracket), GM service bulletin 03-08-111-002E (repair lower doors and install 3M film) remains in effect, the oozing glue from the license plate pocket weatherstrip continues to ooze, most
owners want dual exhaust systems and an improved CAI, the rear end
growls, and many additional items. Why doesn't Chevrolet wake up and address these issues?

When you look at the stats, far more of these trucks are cruising around without problems that the ones that are. Fact is, nobody ever posts on a forum just to say "Hey, my truck is perfect. No problems at all." You only ever hear about them when there is an issue. Chevy has listened. That is why there are the TSB's. For a relatively limited production vehicle, they just aren't gonna make any significant changes. Instead, they will fix the issues that are there when needed and move on.

The rock chipping TSB has been out each year since 2002.
It's cheaper to just quiet the few who complain, than to implement a fix across the board.

:iagree:
I think you hit the proverbial nail on the head.
I used to work for a manufacturer where the same type of issues used to pop up (misaligned hanger brackets, wiring harness gone astray, rock chipping on the fenders and taillight assemblies) and the truth is they just fixed issues for the folks and dealers who complained. It was by far and away cheaper to resolve issues one by one than to implement a manufacturing change in the assembly line, or to do a re-design. This was a trailer manufacturer, I'm sure GM looks at it the same way, only multiply their capacity by several hundred thousand.
Is there a place where we can access all the Service bulletins for TB and TBSS' ? Thanks

Lots of reasons, but here's the biggest one. Bean counters rule. Production changes cost money. Take a look at the famous Ford Pinto memo and remember that unlike that, no one is dying from the issues we suffer from:
http://www.calbaptist.edu/dskubik/pinto.htm
Ford figured out it was cheaper to pay lawsuits regarding death and injuries from fire rather than make a production change regarding the addition of an $11 part to the gas tank.
That culture still exists in the big 2.5....
Wow, no TSB's for 06 TB's? There must be TSB's from previuos years that apply to an 06...like the sandblasting issue by the rear wheels.
