Well alot of ppl from kuwait have had alot of drivetrain problems this winter.. not too sure why, i think we're taking advantage of the weather and just pushing the trucks too hard!! :D

Well an owner of a Trailblazer here in Kuwait asked what was wrong with his transmission, here's what he had to say:

"My TB transmission seems to have a broken gear (3rd gear).
It all started today, I drove the car without heating it and when it tired to shift from 2nd to 3rd, the whole car started shaking and the RPM was going over 4,000 without shifting.

I accelerated on 1st and 2nd gears and they seem to be fine but when 2nd reaches the shift point, the whole car stalls and the RPM keeps revving.

My assumption is that the 3rd gear is broken. "

Any advice you guys could give??

I believe this might be your answer, get your reading glasses on and read to the end. I'm also assuming that this is an '02 model year were talking about?

Good luck, and if they have to have the whole tranny replaced make sure they report it here.

my 03-
coming back on a trip. downhill the engine roared to something like 4500 RPM.
it just revved and would not catch gear. we got off highway.
came to a stop, I had 1st and 2nd gear, it revved up to the point to go into 3rd gear and never did... just revved and stayed there...
fastest I could go was maybe 35 mph or so.....
good thing is I was about 30 miles from home. drove straight to dealer.
problem was the 3-4 bands or 2-3 bands and burnt clutches or something like that..... was about $1200 to fix or some big amount like that.
