November 2005 issue of Motor Trend has an article where they have driven the 2006 TB SS. They actually liked it! (Motor Trend doens't like domestics very much) They got 0-60 in 5.6 sec and 1/4 mile in 14.2 sec @98.0 mph. No estimates on fuel consumption.
Favorable comment on brakes. Said the TB SS uses Corvette Z51 pads up front. (Hope they will fit older TB and Envoys :undecided)

I read that this weekend too. I was interested in the thicker front stabilizer (sway?) bar. Since there's no aftermarket replacement for our platform yet, looks like that may be the way to go.

Having a 2002, you already have a front bar that is thicker than what the TB SS comes with. GM shrunk the bar during the 2004 model year when they placed it through the frame as opposed to bolting it under the frame as they did in 2002-2003. The 2002 bar is 45mm thick and the SS is 'only' 38mm, which is about 10% thicker than the 2004+ trucks at something like 34mm.
Just grab yourself a good set of poly bushings and you'll have greater roll control than the SS bar would provide. - Keep in mind they also put on stiffer shocks and dropped the front end by a little over an inch. (The rear drops more like 2 inches and now uses air).

wow, thanks for the info. I did not know that about my Voy. greatly appreciated. So looks like all I'm gonna need is a Hotchkis rear bar, some ground force springs, and eventually I'll be switching to the Bilstein Heavy duty shocks to tighten up the handling. Now, how do I get to that magic 400 hp number? :undecided That's actually nowhere in the plans currently, I'm satisfied with the power for now. Thanks again
