It was brought to my attention that some of you are having a hard time getting the dealer to find the new TSB for the rear end noise which entails replacing the center section rather than just changing the diff fluid. I picked mine up from the dealer today and got a copy of the bulletin. B/c I had nothing to do this afternoon I typed it out so that any service manager w/ half a brain could locate it. Hope this helps. Hope this isn't a repost.

I had mine changed out and I am confident this resolved the issue. If you are having noise then have this done. I have had no issues or noises since changing it out.

Mine getting the repair this week. Just wondering how the fix effects lockup for traction. Presently it locks up very fast, which I presume is why it makes the noise.

Good info. I will have to listen to mine once we get it this week in case this issue comes up down the road.

Thanks!

Cool !

And they act like there is no such thing as a TSB for that. Dealer treated me like I am the first person to ever complain.

Mine is quiet at 5,000 miles !!

After new rear center section and front carrier !

Great info. Thanks. I had the fluids changed and the noise went away (I can only assume temporarily). Sounds like it's a must fix with all manufactured SS's to date, considering they updated the spring rate too. Agreed? If so, that will cost GM a few :m2: .

Hey guys.....do you think that the factory has changed this and incorporated into building new TBSS's?

I just got mine right off the truck from the assembly plant with 8 miles on it on Jan 27th. I would hate to encounter this.

sorry for the dumb question..I know I know, I hate when others ask questions without looking first but I am too busy at work right now to look. Anyways, what noise are you guys hearing when its gets cold out...I am not sure if this has anything to do with the rear diff but.....when entering onto the highway early in the morning, the shift from first to sec is very rough and I always hear a thudd noise from the rear. When i finally get up to speed, I start to hear a whine while cruising at around 65 mph. Now are these problems with my Tranny or will the TSB fix take care of this.

FYI, I have the ADM tune + intake with stock MAF.

So I take my car back to the dealer for the rear end noise, 2nd time, The last time they did the fluid change Yadda Yadda, it was good for a few thousand miles. Last Night I emailed them the TSB from ths site along with the FOG light TSB, The Service Advisor just called me to say they are looking into the TSB along with a few others, He says he got my email, and heres the scary part " Mr Lewis I got the TSB but your car is not a SS is it?, WTF how can you be a service advisor and not tell the diff bwtn a Trailblazer and a SS, Should I go and get my TBSS and take her to another dealer ? :(

Thank you very much ! My 07 AWD is doing this exact binding sound when going slow and turning forward or backward !

My 97x is doing the exact same thing. Noticed it when turning slow (parking lot maneuvers) and when its cold. Dealer said that GM knows about this, but there is no fix as of yet.
Does anyone have the TSB number, so I can give the information to my dealer?

This noise sounds like a grinding sound, right?

Because after I have let it sit for a while and then get back in to drive it, it only happens for a sec but I get a grinding sound. I thought it was coming from the front, but now that I think about it it happens more often when I hae to backup when its cold.
