We are in the middle of an ice storm where I live and my wife was on her way home from work and went to switch from 2wd to AWD and the light was out and it did not switch to AWD or 4WD. When she got home I checked the the 4wd fuse and it is good. Any ideas?
Thanks Nick

Nick this is a very common issue with the T360. Usually (and hopefully!) your TCM -transfer case module - just wigged out or forgot to wake up. I had this problem on my 2002 Envoy a few times, my 4wd indicator lights went out and occasionally my "Service 4wd" telltale would illuminate on my gauge cluster.
I suggest pulling the fuses labeled TCM or 4WD in your underhood fuse block as well as the rear seat fuse block for a few minutes and re-install them. It took me several cycles to get my TCM to come back around. Ever since the last episode, last spring, I've been good ever since.
The other alternative is replacing the TCM and/or the 4ww selector switch with a flash/reprogram from the dealer, which is a pretty common repair for this type of issue. Do a search of the forums here regarding this. Good Luck!

Does the key need to be in the off position, or on?

Not real sure on that one. I did learn tonight that when in 4 low, I have to stop put the car in neutral turn the lever to 4hi and then put in drive. I cannot go straight to 2HI even after stoping and changing the lever. I could not get mine to disengage until I did that. I do not know if this will help, but I am sure one of these guy on here will be able to help.
