Is this possible? I am looking into installing an SS motor in my 02 Envoy. Do I need all parts including ECU, tranny, etc. I am getting a deal I can not pass up on this motor so I would really like to do this. Will this bolt right in or do I need new mounts or other parts? If anyone has any suggestions or help I would really appreciate it. Or if anyone knows someone who could do this swap in New Orleans, Louisiana give me some info. Thanks

Its really not worth it.
This is a topic that has been discussed many times and with the money you are going to spend on doing the swap you might as well buy an SS and do a envoy conversion.

Yeah forget that 6.0 V8. Just put a "tornado" in the air intake of your I6 :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'm betting it will cost you atleast $10K to get everything converted. Probably 15K by the time you factor labor in. This is with getting the motor for a couple of grand.

Nice Voy from the avatar, looks like you have enough custom work into it...
If you really wanted to do it, I bet you could but only if you could get a TB SS to grab all the wiring from. The SS uses CAN while the other engines dont (I know the I6 doesnt yet), so most of the wiring has to be redone from what Ive seen. It is too bad you cant just run the engine/trans (have to get at least a 4L70E, probably a 4L80E to handle the power) standalone but there are so many things that probably would never work right.
I would have to say get an SS and then graft the Envoy parts over that you want, otherwise it doesnt make sense. If you had a 5.3L V8 it might be more doable, but I dont really know.

I think anything is possible with enough money. Mechanically it should be pretty straight forward. It is the electronics that will be a challenge.
If you go for it, take lots of pics and let us know how the project is progressing.

I have everything needed and I mean everything. Does anyone know about how much it will cost in just labor. I have the whole car. I want to yank everything out the engine bay, paint it, and then replace everything with SS parts. I am trying to upload pics but the site wont let me.

Gotta have 10 posts to load into a gallery. You could easily link to your pics if you have them hosted on a site somewhere. We are all interested to see what you have......and where you are getting all these wonderful parts from.:D

Still not worth it having to rewire your entire truck for CAN based protocol (I6 isnt CAN yet, until 06 I think...). Going to be a huge pain, and not worth it.

 Sometimes we do get a little negative. It is of course possible to do. You would either need a donor SS, or a really really deep wallet. The electronics are completely different. The suspension on the SS is stronger and I would think you would need it to keep the truck on the road. Obviously it would be easier to make it a 2wd Envoy SS as oppsed to trying to switch over the SSAWD stuff. Anyway, I wish luck no matter which way you go with it, oh...and how about posting some pics of that Voy!!

If you have an SS available(flood or accident) you may be able to pull the bodies off and just swap them.

Here in Pennsylvania, emissions;you better have what VIN came with {I6},no sticker no chance at inspection sticker.I'm sure there are the same type issue's in many other states makeing it unsaleable in many states, sorry just stating the obvious.:m2:
