Noticed today when driving the TB that there seems to be a whine to it when it is rolling. Don't know if its comming from the tranny or the rear end. i do have the G80 so I am not sure if that has anything to do with it. But not something I expect at 16k. Thanks for the help:confused:

I personally havent experienced this, maybe someone else has??

Also, you have an 04 with only 16k, so go to the dealer when you have an idea of whats wrong and have them fix it.

you may have a leak, check the transmission fluid level.

I may have that same problem. It was like that when I bought it (used) and I figured it was normal. Sounds sort of weak...

Rear end noise tends to vary with vehicle speed. I.e. the noise increases as the vehicle speed increases and vice versa - take your foot off the gas and the noise slowly fades as the vehicle slows down. Transmission noises tend to vary with engine speed (torque converter or pump), or change when the tranny shifts. Check fluid levels and look underneath for leaks.

Be thankful you don’t have a Cadillac. My Mother has a CTS, the rear end would whine when she gave it gas. Dad did some asking and GM has done everything but a recall on these and the other Cadillac with the same differential. Good news is he had his replaced under warranty and now it sounds better. Bad news is other people on the Cadillac forums reported the new rear ends Lock Up. So much for R&D.
