$275-$300 Buy the fans new from a GMparts wholesaler.
$50-$100 for a used set. Can be easily found on LS1tech.com, Ebay.com, Car-part.com, etc. I personally had a set left over from a Turbo Camaro. I'm doing another 07 soon and the owner has a procharged Trans Am so we are going to use them. Alot of people have these laying around.
Here are some pictures installed. Check back later today, I might update these with some higher quality photos

Will a set of LT1 fans work w/ your harness? I've got a set of LT1 fans that I'm planning to use. I believe the connector is the same.

Yes, the connector is the same.
The brackets should also work as they are pretty much the same. however no guarentees.. Prehaps you can try that for us? :)

Only for the 06+ w/MAF guys as they have a V8 PCM which can be adapted easily via software for the efans. You and I are still out of luck, but when my fan clutch dies I will find a way to get efans to work on my truck.

Its not the getting them to work thats the problem. Its getting the PCM to not have a hissy fit because of the loss of its regular fan inputs.

EFIlive?? Would that let you tinker around with it enough for it to ignore it? Because I remember people with Gen1 W-Bodies could swap in a Getrag M86 into their Grand Prix's and tinker with the PCM to get it to ignore the automatic that was once there.

As ghoster said, no cal in EFILive can turn the fan off. It is supposed to happen with the new 06+ programming though from what Ive heard though.
I have been toying with the idea of turning off all DTCs and MIL lights related to the fan clutch and seeing if I can at least get my truck to run. I know there are a few DTCs I need EFILive to make for me before that will work perfectly though. Once thats done, I think getting a PWM signal from the PCM should be easy (already one there for the mechanical clutch) and then use something like ADM Performance's adapter to get the fans to run properly.
Believe me, once I figure it out I will let you all know and/or start selling kits!:D

I was able to get a set off Ebay yesterday for $96. So next week I will be giving them call. I think I will go all out and get a tune too.
So alvin, you mount the fans upside down with you setup? Also, I sent you a PM with a question earlier today.
Thanks
AlvinPCMforless
01-27-2007, 10:09 PM
Nope they are mounted right side up. There is also a few places on Ebay that sell the complete fan setup used with our kits for around $170 new. So that means $170+$150+159 you can have a great tune, brand new fans and quality fan kit.
We sold another set to a local maggie charged 07 TBSS today.

So is there only the ls1 fans that will fit the tbss?
AlvinPCMforless
01-27-2007, 10:46 PM
Its what our brackets where made to fit with. You can use whatever you want but a LS1 fan drops in like it belongs there.

Hey Alvin.. did you get my pm or email regarding the harness and fan calibrating?
Yeah, I did..
I'm kinda in a catch 22 on this. I worked really hard to come up with this to work with fill functionallity... Say for instance I can make the fans run for a given amount of time with the engine off etc. So I hate to just give the info away to your tuner however I don't want to say you can't get these because I'm not doing the tune.
Do you understand my position?

Too bad this info can't be licensed or something. But once the info is out there it is gone. I understand your position. :worried:

Its a sticky situation.. I do have this to consider though, I doubt anyone is going to be able to make such a professional looking harness and easy to install fan bracket/mounting solution at the price we have set. Maybe what I should do is have 2 prices, one for our customers and one for other customers.. that way I get something for the R&D I put into them. I've heard of other guys getting it to work on the 06's, but nothing on the 07's yet and I'm not sure they doing it like I'm doing it.
I tried a different patch the otherday for track use.. The fans stay on 60 seconds after you leave the vehicle.. Helps with cooling in the staging lanes

Yup.. I understand. I've already bought a fan controller from summit along w/ the factory fan pigtails ~ I just liked how clean the harness you have is. :D Plus with the pcm controlling the fans, I can maybe use this controller for my tranny cooler! Haha... I'll do some checking on my end and will get back to you.
I do appreciate your honesty

Alvin, spoke to Kelly the other day and was telling her that I was finally about to get a tune for the TB. She answered most of my questions. As everyone, I hate the factory fan and want to kill several birds at once when I do this thing. She told me about the fan kit, but wasn't sure if it would fit the 5.3. So, will the SS fan kit fit my 04 EXT w/ 5.3?

I will actually have to look into that. I think I can atleast make a single speed edit to the PCM to allow these to work. IE both fans on or off.
Let me get back to you on that.
BTW.. We are sold out on these things. I will have some more ready for shipping Wednesday (Feb 7)
Alvin's harness looks absolutely professional, this is a is top-notch product.
