I drive a 2002 trailblazer LTZ and as you all know its been a snowly week...so i set my gear to A4WD but as the week went by with less snow, i trun back to 2wd but the problem was that while i was driving the car seem not to move at all only making a loud exhaust noise...its as if i was in neutral but i am not in neutral...so i park the car and shift it back to A4WD and it worked find...what is the problem with my 2WD??? Thanks :D

It sounds like your starting to have some problems with the transfer case you might need a new motor encoder. I had the same problem a few months back with my voy i couldnt shift in to reverse somehow all i heard was a loud grinding noise in from underneath. So that loud exhaust noice you hear could be from your transfer case.

what....nobody is going to help me?In another thread you said you wanted to go to fulltime AWD. What's your real goal?

The transfer case can indeed go into a NEUTRAL mode, as explained in your owner's manual. If the encoder motor or control switch or wiring harness messes up, it can throw you into neutral, explaining the roaring noise. You were in neutral. Likely a dealer will need to run a diagnostic. Glad the holidays are over - it might cost $$.
