2006 Explorer

Maybe I'm the last to know, but I'm watching MNF (GO STEELERS) and just saw the 2006 Exploder for the first time. If the looks of that thing don't make TB/Voy sales go up, I don't know what will. :m2:

That's one sweet looking ride. But i don't like the front end. I'd rather have the TBSS front end on it...:yes:

I like how they boast 292hp which beats the trailblazer... what they don't tell you is that only comes from the optional V8...
their standard V6 comes with a whopping 210.

And our optional V8 (SS) is almost 400 hp. But the front end of the Exploder is what I was talking about there. Just an ugly, ugly grille.

Blah!:duh: They messed up bad on that one! That grille reminds me of the 06' Voltswagon Jetta, the 'euro' look.

I normaly am a Ford guy but they missed the mark and a lot more on the 06 Explorer. i had a chance to sit in one and really get into it and if you think the outside is ugly PLEASE do not look inside. I have seen picturepictures of the inside of the space suttle that looked more user friendly. "FattyTBEXT" you had it right on the money the sales on the TB are going to go up, way UP.

292?? On their website neither the V6 nor V8 offer that kind of power... Only up to like 285 torque...

Their website, under "build my ford" says the V8 only produces 239HP

Then under performance specs, it says "292" I think they're just making stuff up

Like it or not, I'd be willing to bet they sell a lot. I've already seen a few on the road.

I actually like the thing...would i trade my tb for it? Considering the amount of miles it has on it, yes. That interior is a heck of a lot nicer than the bland sea of gray plastic i see in the tb. Just my unpopular, unbiased opinion...

I took apart my dash and painted some of it for a little contrast... finishing the rest of it this weekend. You could either do that or add a dash kit. I'd do either before I bought a Ford. :m2:

I agree with you're way of thinking... I think the eddie bauer looks like crap, but the XLT looks ok - and they do put a couple nice new features/options inside like reverse warning system that aren't available as options for us.

Then again I'd never go back to ford, so there's where I disagree with you

Everyone has their own personal taste. There is nothing wrong with liking another SUV over this one.

I have to agree with you on the interior part. My TB leaves a lot to be desired. I still love it though! I'd rather have a reliable SUV that looks great on the outside, than to have a great interior.

I don't think it looks that bad, I'd drive one as a rental, but I'm a GM guy to the end.

I will give them only two things...

they did the 60/40 split rear bench the "right" way with the 40 behind the driver.
Also the addition of a "quad bucket" second row... thats kinda cool.

Other than that... no thanks.

They also offer a power folding rear seat which is also cool. We can not offer that because we do not have an IRS setup.

Its the first car where I don't mind sitting in the back. but thats pretty much the only thing I like about that car though. I've never been a fan of ford's interior styling, even in lincolns.

I said id take one and i said it ONLY because my truck has so many miles on it. I dont hate my truck. Black betty has her days...We have had ford's forever and up until my moms expedition (2003) that she traded for a denali and our 05 mustang theyve all been great. We already had the transmission on the mustang rebuilt at 6500 miles and we're currently working on a lemon law case to get a refund or replacement. So that being said, GM AND Ford both have their problems so I dont dislike either one more than the other.

i love the interior of my tb, has like 4 colors, i would never go back to ford,

I've never owned anything but a Chevy, and I like my interior better because I just added another tone of gray to the dash anyway. :m2:

Wow, just like the new F-150, they should have stuck with the old one. Makes me love Chevy more than ever.

I like the 06 Explorer. I will certainly give it a look when the time comes to replace my TB.
