Hi, I need to replace my muffler. The muffler has two small holes with a lot of soot. I don't know what the OEM muffler is in size. I want to replace it with a local shop but I need to bring the correct muffler. I have a GMC ENVOY 2005 v6. I don't want to get a muffler that sounds like a jet engine. I need some suggestions, where I could purchased a good muffler, but without the noise. I want to keep it quite. Does any one know the OEM number or something similar? I have place a picture where the hole is, but this is an old picture. It has become worse from this picture. I would take a picture, but camera was stolen. I put some muffler putty, but it is only a temporary solution and beside the putty came off.

Are you sure that's not the weep hole on the muffler?

I have 41,000 miles on it and I do have extended warranty, but I am not sure if that is how it supposed to be. Weep hole meaning? It is just getting worst and I am not sure if I should worry or just leave it along. I have notice an increase in engine noise and I have change all the fluids and have maintain the truck. I know with the winter fuel you get a little more noise due to the winter formula. If it is something I could live with then I should not worry, but it is normal for both sides to have that? I know when I turn the engine on there always a puddle of water right underneath. It used to be a few drops, but now it getting bigger. Maybe it's just winter. I will clean it and see what happens.

Don't worry about the water It's condensation normal. Unless you check your overflow for the radiator and it low, I had a head gasket on a older truck go out and the water in the tail pipe was the first indicator, the empty overflow was the second...

That looks like a problem, try turning your Voy on, putting the Park brake on, and getting down and looking/lightly sniffing to see if the exhaust is coming out of there. If it is, then you have a problem and either need a new muffler or a catback.

BTW, you have a I6 enigne or a V8, no V6 has ever been offered in the TB/Voy. Its a common mistake, dont worry about it, just take the new knowledge of your truck and run!:D

GMC ENVOY 2005 I6, sorry for the error. Well, I just turn it on and it is just condensation coming out, but there are days where the Voy sounds like an airplane and then there are those days where you don't even know if the engine is on. I know that I need to replace cylinder#4, I found a lot of water in there and the cylinder itself it has metal corrosion. It is cold outside to work on my Voy, so I am trying to see if I could use in-laws garage. It just worries me and I don't know if I should be concern or just let it go. In a way, I do want to change the muffler for better performance, but I am not too crazy about loud noise coming from a car. I need to find a quite muffler with good performance.

Need to replace Cylinder#4 Ignition Coil, just clear things up.

What extended warranty do you have?

If a GMPP all things are covered...don't waste your time with the cylinder problem, thats what you paid the extended warranty for :ugh:

...and while it in for the engine work, have them check the muffler

I have warranty Direct. It supposed to be the secure plus plan. Bumper to Bumper. Now this morning I was hit by a delivery truck, which made a dent in the side door of the back. Nothing major, but not a good day for me. This afternoon got sideswipe by a yellow cab in the front bumper. Hopefully, rubbing compound would take out the scratches. To top it off my landlord has decided to evict me, because I was late in paying my rent. Not my fault... Bank claims I never made a deposit and it a big hassle when trying to fight with a big bank. What next... Sorry but not having a good day.
