anelson 10-12-2005, 09:00 PM Im planing to put 22" wheels in my 2005 trailblazer so my question is the next one . whats the biggest size of tires that i may put in my truck i want to put 295/35/22" but i dont know if this is going to fit well in my car. i just see in internet 285-35-22 and i guees that it works with no problems and i see that may there is more space for the 295 tire. If some knows whats the biggets size in tires whit out maiking any mayor mods please let me know thanks..
sloe77 10-12-2005, 10:01 PM I don't know how big you can go, but I've got 265/40 tires on my 22s with no rubbing.
StvsDenaliXL 10-13-2005, 12:19 AM I have 22" rims w/265/35/R22 and they fit good with no rubbing and I still have my same turning radius....you can go with a 265/40/R22 also...my ride is different from the stock tires (not as smooth), but not by much, I've grown used to it.....but the 05 Envoy Denali has a pretty good suspension and the air ride in the back helps.....but the 295 will most likely rub when you turn.
anelson 10-19-2005, 10:00 PM What About the 285/35 .... i guess the 265 its too small so i want to go to the big one beacause i live in venezuela and in my city the stretts are bad.. so please let me know something more thanks....
StvsDenaliXL 10-21-2005, 11:41 AM You can give that a try....when I tried the 295/45 22 they rubbed on the inside wall....some tire shop in my area will try some tire sizes on one rim and then put it on your car to see if it fits....don't know how they are in Venezuela:confused:....the rear tire will be fine, its just the front, because when you turn is when it will rub. If you go with 285/35 or 285/45...it may just fit...ask if you can try a tire on the front and then turn your wheel all the way to the right and left and see if it touches the inside and outside walls....let me know how you do....my friend has a TB and asked me the same question.;)

StvsDenaliXL 10-21-2005, 03:22 PM I figured the 285/35 would fit, but be really close.....do they affect your turning radius?...how do you like the Hankooks....I have the 265/35 22 102W Hankook Ventus ST.....pretty good?

ScarabEpic22 10-21-2005, 07:40 PM All you need to do now is drop it to remove the big gaps between the tires and the body.
StvsDenaliXL 10-21-2005, 08:44 PM Actually I wish I could bag it....but I would screw with the air suspension, not to mention my warranty:no: . I have a self adjusting air suspension in the rear.

Then I think you need to go with a thicker sidewall. Try a 285/45. If the roads are bad, I wouldn't dare go with anything thinner, but that's just me. I went with 265/50/20 b/c I didn't want bent rims and wanted a smoother ride. I definitely do like the look of less rubber though:duh: and more chrome :D
StvsDenaliXL 10-24-2005, 01:47 AM I wouldn't go with a 295, I tried that size and it rubbed, go with the 285/45 or you can try a 285/40 22 also Falken makes both the 40 and the 45, also Nitto makes a 285/45.....if you decide on a 285/35, Nitto and BFgoodrich makes those.

no affect on turning radius. i like em very much. i thought the ride would be horribly rough with 22's but it's only a little worse than with the factory wheels/tires.
it's about time to put those back on though :worried:
winter time in PA is sneaking up on me.
