My Service 4wd light is on, I'm pretty sure it's the result of the TCM going bad. Is there anyway for me to kill that light without hooking up a new TCM? If I unplug the harness from the TCM, will that do it? Thanks.

You will most likely, at the very least, have the SES light come on because of communication problems

Why don't you get the code...see if autozone can read it, then post it and we'll see what we can come up with http://www.day.az/forum/style_emoticons/default/thinking.gif

It's rare that a control module fails...there is probably another problem with the systemhttp://www.unixboard.de/vb3/images/smilies/sm-nachdenk.gif

I've heard many many stories about transfer case control modules burning up, the consensus seems to always be that it's either the switch or the module itself, but I'll run to o'reilly's and have'em pull the code anyway...

When my module went out the service 4wd light never came on, but the lights for the 4wd knob went out and switch didn't work. I replaced the module then everything was fine.
