Now if this was already gone over in another post please supply me with a link to that post because I haven't been back on the forums in a long time and don't truely have the time to search but if not any info would be awsome on this question.

I was wondering if there was anything we can do to strengthen the front differential? Mine has already been repaired twice. I have big plans for this summer after I get my new job in order but I am seriously worried about what I can do about the front diff. Any help would be nice. Thanks in advance. -B-

What increases diff strength is ring gear size. In order to make it stronger, you need to increase the ring and pinion size, which means you need to replace the whole front axle assy. I can't imagine you can generate enough load on the front end to explode it. The tranny will give out long before the front gear breaks.
Now if you are having problems with the the ring and pinion being set up wrong from GM, join the club. There seems to be some problems with the clutch packs and ring and pinion settings.

i have seen a h2 explode a front diff housing! and i did it my self in my s10. it can be done. the h2 broke the housing in half and spit the diff and most of the ring gear out on the ground! my s10 snapped the pinion housing off and mowed the ring and pinion. driveshaft beat big dents in the floor! there is no fix i know of for ifs strength. they are an inherently weak design. thats why my s10 went bye, bye! too many broken parts on the trail. was a great truck had 263,000 miles on it. needed something much stronger. so i got a jeep!
the only option for an ifs vehicle is a solid axle swap and that a fairly large undertaking. perhaps a custom long travel ifs system, but that would be cost prohibitive. toyota has pretty good luck with there ifs system and some stronger parts to upgrade to. mabey some kind of toyota ifs axle swap if you really want to stay ifs? dont know why you would though, cheaper to go solid axle. in theroy you could have a dana 44 or even a hi pinion dana 30 re tubed to accept the tubes of an ifs system?? mount it just like oem? same mounts, same shafts. usually runs 800 to 1000 $ for a retube. if you only run on the street thought of removing the front driveshaft?? no front end load at all then! good luck
