well i just got back and i did ok i guess. so for an 07 tb ss no sun roof or bose audio, cloth seats and no xm radio. the truck is 31,147 theres a rebate right now for 4,000 off so that puts me at 27,147. but heres the catch the truck has to be ordered and the rebats ends at the end of the month so i mite not get the rebate for 4,000 because the truck wont be here for 6 weeks so ill get whatever rebate is going on next month. so im not sure what im going to do now. i would have said order it if i got the rebate for 4,000 with the truck but now i have to take a gamble. you guys are problly wondering why im getting the base modle well i can put my own katzskin leather in at work for 500 and then im going to put three tv screens in it that were left over from my tahoe

I would bet that GM will be having a similar promotion in the next couple of months so I wouldn't be to worried about it or I would lock the dealer into giving you that deal. There should be no problem with that. Have them do the paperwork now and it should fly. Did they try and locate what you are looking for?

Rebates and incentives are only good when the car is "on the ground" at the dealership. If the rebates change downward, then you're out of luck. It's not the dealer's fault, it's the money that GM contributes. If you're worried about it, find one that's close to what you want that they can get you now. If you lose the $4000 rebate, then the extra $$ spent on some options you may not want would be nullified by the loss of the rebate.

they told me the rebates only good when the truck gets to the dealership.or when theres a vin # from the truck when they start to put together the truck they did a search but only came up with fully loaded and it was in NJ in a 2 wheel drive. they also told me that once i ordered it that its mine because its 2 wheel drive and that they would have a hard time selling it if i backed out. i have 10 days to order then they stop making 2007 and the 2008 lline of gm will start. im going to the insurance company monday to get a quot so that i can see how much its going to be. but other than that i will be ordering next week. i cant wait to start moding.:)

Pretty sure they stop taking orders right about now, it takes them a little while to finish making the ordered trucks and then they run a few more after that. Then they switch to the 08 year.
Wonder whats in store for 08, and hopefully the SS is still around. And, what engine will the SS have, as isnt the LS2 supposed to die after the 07 model year?

That makes more sense about not being able to "order" an 07, but he said they start "making" the 08 in 10 days.

I had my dealership search for any 2wd ss's and those things are impossible to find. Awd's are a dime a dozen. I guess I would say jump on that one in NJ if its the only 2wd. Maybe they can work on the bottom line since its really not want you wanted. GM has already started production on the 08 Silverado's but I'm not sure about the rest of their line. I'll have the 06 ss up for sale very soon if things don't work out for you. I have an appointment with a Jeep dealer in the am to drive the SRT-8. Figure its about time to see what this thing is all about!:woot:

Yes, 2WD SS's are very hard to find! It took my salesman over a week to secure the one I want with the specific options! I am probably one of his pickiest customers. I am picking my 2WD 3SS tomorrow after work! I am hoping I can leave work early! :woot:

Don't buy until March Madness details are announced. Last years was a great time to buy. They should be announced this week I think.

The only problem I see with 2wd is the resale value. I would think most people buying a used one down the road are going to seek the AWD. Could be wrong though.

Last year I did not see any TBSS up here in MI, now I see them everywhere atleast one or two a day. It may be different for the dealerships where you guys live, but when I got my TBSS I had about 10 to chose from. All from 1SS to 3SS and all colors FWD and RWD. Anyway goodluck with you TBSS

Everyone that gets one complains about the TERRIBLE fit!!! Apparently they won't even go in without some modifications right out of the box.
I havn't heard anything bad about the CAI's from any of the vendors on here, Vector, Tune Time, ADM, IeatSRT8. In fact, I'd probably just get one at the same time you get the tune, since most of the good CAI's require a little tweak of the tune to avoid running lean. Just my :m2:
