sounds very uncommon. i would have that to the stealer ASAP as the Xfer case could try and switch at speed as it did to me ,, bad deal there , call the stealer

I noticed this problem while using the 4wheel during our last snow storm. I was in A4WD and I noticed the lights flashing for 4H and 4L when I got a little stuck and the 4WD was kicking in. I got out of the rut, stopped, switched it off manually and just tried to take it easy from there on.
Went to the stealer and they recommended servicing front/rear diff, etc. Charged me $800, so far so good, but then again I haven't had to use the A4WD since.

Unfortunately I get this a few times every once in a while. I think its my switch going bad. Probably will buy a new one with a new headlamp control switch too when I get around to doing it.

I am wondering if it is a software bug in the 4x4 module. Mine did this also and I alrady did all the service for it. Part of me wants to say its normal operation only because if it is in A4WD it would switch to high and low 4wd to try to find traction. Now Normally I don't see the lights switch but I know how well software bugs find them selves out IRL. I turned my switch to 2wd and it went away and hasn't come back since. Lets also remember that 4wd H/L shouldn't be used on dry pavement above 45 mph and I wonder if that goes for A4WD too?

A4WD is for any speed any time. unless you don't need it then just use 2HI{better fuel econ.}.:m2:
