Not sure what you guys pay for auto ins., but I used to only pay 974 a year for my TBSS, i was surprised that it only went up 60 bucks a year when I traded for the 07 Vette. Im only 22. I think thats pretty fair. What do you guys pay? BTW im with Allstate.

2006 TB LT

28yo male, single, prior military, in South Carolina.

USAA (best ins co out there if you qualify - military)

Full coverage, $500 ded.
50-100-50 coverage

$481/6 mos. Driving record is clean - no tickets, etc. Only accidents left on record are one Aug 2003, hit a treestump in my 2002 TB. Whoops.

USAA has the note on the truck, and I also have renter's insurance with them so that may affect the premium (in the good way).

Location, Age, Driving Record, Multi-Car, etc. are major factors. Also, most carriers are using Credit Score as a MAJOR factor for premiums. None mention that, but all use it.

I only pay $22 a month. :woot: Thats only because I'm overseas in Iraq and my baby is in storage with collision protection, otherwise its about $125 (for So. California). When it was insured for Chicago it was $230, woooo, I'm glad I got out of that one.

As a licensed insurance producer (P&C, Multi-Line) I will tell you that your credit can have ALOT to do with your premiums (sorry about the length):
1st - All major carriers (and many smaller ones) are using some type of credit scoring or "consumer scoring" method to set your premium above or below a "standard rate". Some only discount below the standard rate for a good score, but most will also ding you for a bad score. Note that it is not the same FICO score that your bank pulls when you get a loan. However, buying that house, or running your cards to the max (or getting a nasty divorce) could get you higher premium rates. Yes, that means two people of the same age living across the street from each other with the same vehicle and identical driving records could have HUNDREDS of dollars difference in premiums from the same company.:hissy: The theory is the lower your credit, the bigger the risk you are.
2nd The "Standard Rate" is dependant on how much damage your vehicle does to other vehicles & people (liability), how well it protects its occupants in a wreck, how much it costs to repair after a wreck (comprehensive & collision), and how much someone else would like to see it setting in their driveway (comprehensive).
Of course the primary driver's age and marital status can add major $$ to the premium, and the insurance laws of the state you live in also have quite a bit to do with it as well (Arkansas is not a "no-fault state" and does have mandated liability coverage).
Mine? 02 TB - State Farm 50/100/50, $5000 med, $0Comp, $1000 Coll., Roadside, Rental, 50/100/50 Uninsured and Acc Death & Disability - $357.62 every 6 months with a multicar discount.
