I figured I would go ahead and start this thread as it could be helpful to those of us who haven't pulled the trigger just yet. Ok, you few lucky souls who have already gotten your hands on the TBSS, what kind of deal did you get? Have the dealers already started with their petty little games?

The $2500 TB rebate from GM applies to the SS model, right?
And if you have a GM Card you can get another $2500 off!
And I'm guessing a dealer could knock off at least $3000 and still have a profit...
That puts a base TB SS with MSRP of $33600 at $25600!
:D
Of course, if you can get it at GMS then I'm sure you're saving even more than this.

Mine is $500.00 over invoice plus my rebate = $2000.00 under invoice. MSRP is over 40K.

MSRP over $42K
Dealer invoice, less $2500 rebate, less $2500 GM card.
MSRP over $42K
Dealer invoice, less $2500 rebate, less $2500 GM card.
What is a "GM Card"?

It's a credit card that you earn $ off a GM vehicle as you make purchases. Same idea as a credit card tied to an airline where you earn frequent flyer miles with each purchase.

No. As you make purchases you accrue points ($) that can then be applied to the purchase of a vehicle. You can accrue up to 5% of your purchases so you have to charge at least $50,000 to accrue $2500. There are some restrictions.....

OH...I dont think the 2500 is worth the 50,000 youd have to put on the credit card...I wish theyd to employee pricing on one! I just want a "stipper" with sunroof. I can add leather later on...the main thing i want is 400 horsies.

I got about $800 off because of the GM card that my family uses. I would have had more saved up if my mom hadn't just bought a new 04 Silverado Z71.

MSRP $41925. After GID and $500 rebate, $38600 and $1000 in gas cards.
What's the deal on gas cards, do you just have to ask for them? :D

Any TB gets $500 gas card right now. If you cuss, kick and storm out you get another $500 in gas and $500 rebate.

:rotfl: A temper tantrum goes a long way these days, huh?heck yes. My rationale for purchasing a car: act like you absolutely hate it. act like the guy is wasting your time, thats the quickest way to get everything out of him. or her. actually, now that I think about it, why don't they have pretty girls selling cars? I'd probably pay a grand over msrp just coz I'm a sucker

I got an e-mail about the gas card last week, so I am not sure how long it has been going on. As far as I can tell, the $2500 TB rebate does apply to the SS for the time being. I was talking to my dealership yesterday, and so far I am the ONLY customer to inquire about the TBSS. I guess they are currently allocated only 2 of them, and they are getting ready to order their first one. He suggested I come in and drive a TB with the 5.3L to see if I like it and then just place an order for their second allocation. His pricing: They would be glad to sell me the first one for MSRP and he thinks the rebate does not apply. How generous. I guess his mistake was telling me I am the only one so far who wants on of these. I'm thinking invoice plus rebate is beginning to sound pretty good, especially after what GM is calling one of their worst months of sales ever.:duh: If they are unwilling to come off the price a bit I may have to reconsider an 04' Cobra.

Watch out for any dealership that offers a free lap dance when you enter the showroom door.

MSRP is BS. It is just an engine and trim package. Chevy dealers tried this on the SS pickup when it first came out in '03 and within a few months they were deep discounting them. Beware of any dealer/salesman that tries to "do you a favor" at MSRP. I don't think there is any allocation either, GM has said it will build as many as there is demand for. :m2:

SS are allocated, but I'm sure if a dealer askes for more they will no problem getting the allocation.

BTW as of today, anyone hoping to get real GMS lost $1000 employee bonus cash and the $500 gas card :(

I would say look for more incentives like the employee bonus cash and fuel card mid month. GM is famous for pulling things like that in order to attempt to save the month. Lucky my lease quote was with out the bonus cash so I have no where to go but down.

Chris -
Did you get GMS or GMO?
Chotton
11-01-2005, 11:06 PM
There is no such thing as GMO anymore. It's the same price if your order or buy it out of stock. With GMO you used to save a little more.
GMO or option 1= Employee price ordered
GMS or option 2 =Employee price out of stock

Well my issue is..
I ran the thing with the very same options online and came up with one price and the dealer gave a different price.
PS - I am filling out the Satisfaction Survey right now, so far its not good

Well, every dealer is going to give you a different deal. I was lucky enough to go to one that everyone at work bought their cars from so, I was in and out in an hour. I would maybe try calling your dealership back, or customer service and see if anyone can give you satisfactory answers, if not take it on up the chain.
