well, ive raced a buddy of mines 4.6 Supercharged Range Rover Sport, and took him by about 5-6 cars... so if you do the math... the SS will(should) win...

the reason why BMW came out with the 4.8 was because the range rover sued BMW for useing the same 4.6L engine, regaurdless 4.8 naturally aspirated shouldnt give u a problem..

I know I smoked an X5 with the smaller engine. I can't imagine you would have any problem at all with one.

The best time I have seen from BMW themselves is 14.56 at 96.01 mph in the 1/4 mile run ! 0-60 is 6.0 seconds and 0-100 is 16.0 seconds ! Tell him that his BMW should beat yours by about 3 to 4 car lengths from 0-100 and when the race is over and you have beat him by 5-6 cars ..WOW will he feel bad !
Most BMW drivers need to be humbled every now and then !! Cost on a new BMW X5 is between $45,900.00 and $54,999.00 !

X5 4.8i - 355 hp, 0-60 6.4 sec, weighs 4652 lbs.
TB SS - 395 hp, 0-60 5.8 sec, weighs 4520 (2WD), 4720 (AWD)

Got it beat on power to weight ratio and 0-60 rating. Don't think it would be a problem.

It would probably be close since our transmissions are junk. Seriously.

14.56 1/4mi, thats easily beatable by a stock SS, even AWD. What was ghost running in his 04 I6 Westers tuned, like a 16.xx?

Get a handheld tune (Superchips) and it will REALLY wake the beast. The 1-2 shift slams you in your seat! You'll have no issues then.

16.1. Really embarrassing launch. :o Should be good for mid to high 15's though.

The Last time i raced an X5 was a MIA, that papi was stuggling with me when I was stepping on the accelerator padel half way, with just an I6 engine. :woot: Of course you can smoke an X5 with an SS. Since my dad use to have an X5, i know that X5s normally have 350 hp (but i dont know the exact hp as if now). You already know how much HP an ss has.

I bet it does, wonder what they did now that it can talk to the TCM. Before all SCT did (and Diablo still does) is 0 out the Torque Management sections in the ECM for that slam 1-2 shift as they couldnt fix it properly through the TCM. Hope they have it dialed in right now.:)

Ohh well, whatever man. I need to strap my 02 to a dyno and get it dialed in perfectly one of these days.

(from what I understand and have read)
Handheld Superchips Tuner has 6 different areas for adjustment with the shifting. It is adjustable for "Shift Point" (RPM) and "Shift Pressure" (PSI) in each of the 6 areas. I am not sure how many different steps of adjustment are available in each of the 6 areas but I would think that a person could play with them to get the desired 1-2 / 2-3 / 3-4 shifts.
One thing I like about the handheld tuner is the ability to run the stock, superships, or your own settings. Gives a person alot of different options.

I don't know from a dead stop but from a 70 roll they're pretty slow. I ran one on k-96 on the northeast side of Wichita and it was no contest. I think I was just taking frustration out for the beating I took from a new M5 a couple of weeks earlier.
