Our shiny new silver SS finallyl arrived!! I got the call yesterday morning and we picked it up that afternoon. The whole Trick or Treat thing kept us from much of a drive, but the 20 mile trip home was enough to convince us that we made the right choice. Even being gentle during break-in, the difference between a 5.3L and the LS2 is clear.
Here's a couple of pics for the group. I posted more in the Gallery as well.

I agree! I've seen it in white at the Woodward Dream Cruise and again at Corvettes at Carlisle.

I saw some pics of the blue online and it looked good. I might have gone that way, but my Vette is Navy Blue and we didn't want another black truck (too hard to keep as clean as I prefered).

Ours is an LT. but I'm not sure the LS seats are different. I've only seen leather seats in the 4 I've seen. I know that early documentation indicated that there was an LS version, but it looked like they changed the package only be an LT. Based on the ordering info, the SS Package (B4U) includes the leather seats AND requires the LT 2 package that includes the 8-way heated driver seat (YC6), which in turn requires the LT package (1SB).
We started the process on a LT 4WD CT15506 to get the AWD, so maybe that dictated those packages, but I don't think so. Either way, a dealer should be able to confirm it.

I said the same thing, I liked the silver one better than the black one, and now I like the white one better than the silver one.... BUT I still love them all, I'm not saying anything negative about anyone's SS, it's just my personal preference!!

That's kind of how I feel. If I had room in the budget (and the garage) we'd definintely have a black one too. Right up until ours arrived I was questioning our choice, becasue I've seen two black ones and it looks mean. Plus, my wife drove ours the first day but I've need it for business travel the last couple of days and she's already jonesing to drive it again, despite driving her Vette. :(
So I guess we really do need His and Hers. Maybe we'll win the lottery...

Are you planning to drive it in the winter? If so, please post your driving impressions.
I've been considering one, but wondering how it will do in a Michigan winter.

First, welcome to the site!!
And if the winter is keeping you from getting one, just get the AWD model :m2:

I was planning on the AWD (an easy decision in Michigan), but I'm still curious about the effects of that much hp on icy/snowy roads. We already have one vehicle that can't be driven in the winter (2004 CTS-V), so I want to be sure that this one could handle year-round driving.
I'm not planning to purchase in the immediate future (we're still paying off that V! :) ), so I'll keep watching the board and see what people say over the next few months.

I used to own an awd Talon that had roughly 400hp (ran mid 12's). That thing was a blast in the snow! I never had so much fun!:rotfl: I can't wait for winter!

It better be good in the snow, 'cause my ultimate plan is to drive my SS in the winter and switch to a CTS-V in the summer. The V is at least a year or two away tho...

It'll be worth the wait, though - my husband LOVES his V! He's been like a kid with the ultimate Christmas present ever since we bought it a year and a half ago. And as much as he loves the power, which you would expect, he thinks the brakes are just as great. The thing stops like you wouldn't believe.
That's one thing I wish the TB SS had is really serious brakes like the CTS-V. Can't have everything, I guess!
We're also thinking that a change in tires for winter might help if we find that the SS has any trouble in snow. I'll definitely be reading with great interest the feedback from those who already have theirs and live in the snow belt.
Enjoy your SS - can't wait 'til I can get one!

Umm, it does.
It has Corvette oe brake pads and might have the calipers too. I know it at least has beefier calipers than the regular TB/Voys. I think the fronts are piston and the rears are 1 or 2.

While it does have some things from the Corvette brakes and more powerful brakes than the regular TB, I was holding it to the higher standard I've gotten used to with the CTS-V.
The V has 14.0 Brembos, while the TB SS has 12.8 inch - and the TB is heavier. When they started talking about doing the SS, I was hoping the brakes would be at least the same as the V, if not larger (with 20-inch wheels vs. 18-inch on the V, it seems like there should be room for bigger brakes). The 60-0 distance for the TB SS is estimated at about 115 feet, while the CTS-V is 135. Not a huge difference, but could make the difference in a crucial moment.
I don't mean to imply that the brakes on the SS are bad, they're certainly above average and part of an overall package that I really like. I give GM a lot of credit for coming up with this "spicier" addition to the TrailBlazer lineup.
Again, can't wait for one!

OK, I understand your view on the SS vs. the CTS-V. Bigger SUV vs smaller car. Gotcha! :) I also think they should have used the bigger rotors, it would remove some of the empty area between the rotors and the rims. Also, do you mean the V has a distance of 115 and the SS 135? Or am I going crazy?
