My buddy is looking to buy a TrailBlazer, so we went to the dealer today, and I just happened to have my trusty camera with me. So here are some pics of the 2006 TrailBlazer LS's and LT's:
Here is a comparison of the 2006 LT and the 2006 LS (Back)

Here is a comparison of the 2006 LT and the 2006 LS (Front)

Here is the front of the LT SWB

Here is the back of the LT SWB

Here is the 2006 EXT LT

Here is a closeup of the new headlights on the 2006 LT's

And here are some pics of the new clear mirror turn signal lenses

The salesman pointed out the new location of the OnStar/GPS antenna near the rearview, and the new "fin like" XM antenna above the drivers head

And here are the three types of wheels

I know you guys have probably seen shots like these already, I just thought that some might like to see the comparison shots of the LS which is exactly the same as all of our current TB's (except SS) and the new 2006 LT which has new front and rear bumpers as well as the antennas and the clear mirror turn signal lenses.
One thing I realized that I hadn't noticesd before is that you could very easily put an SS bumper on the new LT's, whereas you couldn't on the LS or any of the prior years. I wanted to get some pics of the inside, but the salesman had already put the keys away by the time I got the camera.
And here are the part numbers that they gave me for the clear turn signal lenses on the mirrors, he stated that they would be available within a few months, but then again we have been hearing that for a while:
19120868 & 19120869
I've got some high res pics, if anyone needs them for better comparison, please PM me and I will send them to you.

Oops, sorry, I edited them into that post, but here they are again:
10120868 & 10120869
I saw the guy bring up an exploded view of the mirrors and there were four part numbers for the lenses, the first ones were 2002 - 2006, which were the amber ones, and the second set of numbers was only for 2006, which was the clear ones. He brough up the description and is stated "CLEAR". The part just isn't available yet.

Actually, I was thining that they take a test drive, without the salesperason of course, and swap out his amber ones with the clear.
As for the pics, not to keen about the headlamps on the LT's. To much empty space there. Wonder how hard would it be for GM to have the fog lamps in the empty spot (a la 1998 S-10/Blazer), figuring they refreshed the whole front end.
Great pics jman423

i think i like the older look better. Maybe it's only because i have the older look...but maybe not. You said the lenses are for 06 only. So will the clear lenses fit on older models? They look to be the same.

Nice!
One question... I hope that Cheesy TrailBlazer Pin striping is not standard????

What's the appeal of the clear side signal mirrors? Doesn't that make them harder to see? Wouldn't that defeat the purpose?
Also, my two cents worth on the new design.
I like the new LT front and the old LT/new LS back. However, in a way its kind of nice that there is a difference between the LS and the LT. But I suspect that as they run out of LS parts, the '07 LT and LS will look the same...

I took pics at another dealership the same day. Way to beat me to the punch.
I like the older front and back. Like Tim said, maybe it's just beacuse that's what I have. And with the 06's now nobody can make their LS exterior into an LT exterior without some expensive swap-outs. :p

I'd say my rationale is that I just want them to be seen when they are operational. IE when I'm turning. they are cool for the same reason the ford side mirror "arrows" are cool, because you don't know they are there until they're being used.
I only want 2 colors on my car, red and black. no orange.

I didn't take any pics of that truck... :x

Yes, they will fit on the older models, it's just a part number for 2006 models, so thats why it's labeled that way. I looked very close and it's all the same. These guys must have been wondering about me, here I am taking pictures of all of these trucks, and I'm looking at the mounting for the mirror lens

The pinstripe with the "TrailBlazer" at the back was on every LT, and on the LS it was just the bow tie. That doen't mean anything, but thats how it was at that specific dealership. After talking toi that sakesman, if I were to be looking for a new TB, I would build it online and get it sent to the local dealer, and that's what my friend will do when he gets one.

You're right about it being harder to see.... I was in the lot looking at that trucks and I was having a hard time telling whether a truck had them or not until I was standing next to the driver's door. But I figure what the hell, I'll have both sets so if I change my mind, I'll just swap them back and forth.

Um, that was me, the salesman was taking too long to get the key :rotfl:

Good pics!!!
I like the new LT rear and the old front. The empty spaces where the crossbar used to go looks horrible without any filler. I do like the grile part better with the colored trim around it. I want to get an SS grille and see if the CAI can be adapted to the older TBs. A TB SS grille...(drool) ahhh!:D

Just cut out the part of your old grille where the SS's intake holes are and put the mesh in it. Voila! SS grille. :p

Actually if you get a volant system it should line up the opening pretty nicely with the duct underneath the light.
I'm assuming the "driver side duct" is just for aesthetic/symmetrical purposes... i doubt that they'd route a duct from the driver light all the way to the other side
As for the rear bumper, if you've noticed the front and rear bumpers now have the body lines of an Envoy - meaning either the mounting is the same across all TB and Envoy platforms, or they just moved all LT's to the mounting platform of the Envoy
I'd say you'd have a better shot with the rear bumper then you would the front, but then again I haven't taken it apart

I was thinking the same way, until I compared the fronts of both trucks. The new LT/SS grilles will not fit onto the old TB/new LS because the bumper is different, but on the other hand, if you are going to go all the way and do the bumper too, then it should work :m2:

They probably think you're working for daewoo and trying to find out where the company went wrong. Obviously it's because they didn't have clear turn signal lenses.
If i had gotten pinstripes on my car i would like the one that says trailblazer. I would think it's an option to get it or not though. I know they charged my mom an extra 89 bucks for the pinstripes. Which in case anyone has ever wondered pinstriping is covered under your warranty.

Personally i like the 'two tear' rear bumper like on the 02-05 TBs and the 06 LS. I think it makes it look more like a truck. :m2:
However, if you are going for the more sportier look, i like the new 06 LT bumper:yes:

I liked the 06 rear bumper when I first saw it because it was different. Now I like the older ones again. :D

thanks for taking the time to shoot and post the pics. I have been trying to figure out what rear bumper I want for my 03 TB LT. Your thread just helped me decide on the new LT bumper.
