Anyone see the new autoweek story on the trailblazer ss....anyway est. price for the base model is 35K, not bad. They also noted that the towing capacity is like 6700 lbs. Anyway though I should share it.

35K is all?? Wow, that's really reasonable quite frankly. Given the choice between an Envoy SLT and a TB SS, I'd definitely know which way to go

Was the autoweek story online or did you see it in the magazine?

It was in last weeks magazine (had an orange range rover on the cover).

Remenber that 35K is for the BASE model...w/ this said it will probably be lacking the brake upgrade, leather, and other key add ons.

The following article is pretty much a review of what's already been written about the TBSS. The reason I posted it was because it has a couple of pictures of the vehicle shot from different angles I have not seen yet.

Is it just me or should they have put dual exhaust on it? I'm all about symmetry that way. And what would it have taken to get to 400 hp? 391 is nice, but it's not 400. Maybe I'm just bitter that I'm only sitting on 275 hp with my EXT right now...

You are not the first to suggest dual exhaust on the TB SS. Has been discussed on a lot of forums. Probably would make 400 HP with duals. Wonder how hard it is to make duals OEM? Even a KIA SUV has OEM duals. :undecided
Duals will be one of the first things the tuners and mod folks develop. :m2:

I'm sure alot of it had to do with emissions laws

I read elsewhere that there’s no real way to get the duals to pass safety regulations, hence the single outlet. The rear bumper is another victim of the crash test. If you compare the production SS bumper to the spy photos (http://www.autoblog.com/entry/1234000000024488/) out there, you will notice the trapezoidal tip is gone. The Chevy rep at the New York Auto show explained that this early bumper could not pass safety regulations, so a more conventional bumper and exhaust tip was used.

That does make sense. And 391 hp is a lot more than I have. Imagine that kid in the Civic's face when you smoke him off the line. Priceless...
