Just in case anyone new is wondering what to expect from the TBSS for real world results on the highway, i took a road trip and here they are.
2006 TBSS 2wd, bone stock, 91 octane, 20568kms-12781miles, minus 3 degrees celcius-21 fahrenheit, tires 37psi
60 mph- come on who drives that slow???
70 mph-113 kph, 18.4 mpg or 12.7 L/100km @2350rpm
80 mph-129 kph, 15.7 mpg or 14.9 L/100km @2600rpm
90 mph-145 kph, 14 mph or 16.7 L/100km @2950rpm
This test was done driving with cruise control on for 40 miles or 65 kms steady. Road was paved consisting of mostly mild rolling hills with flat areas. Slight gentle cross wind. Intresting to know that i did the exact same test one day prior with a medium to at times heavy rain and got about 2mpg less at every speed. One thing i would like to know is would there be any difference on the highway between 87 octane and 93 octane fuel???

Arn't the tires rated for 32psi as it states on the door sticker? 37 seems a little high. Just an observation.

My psi was lower during the cold winter months but with the spring weather and our recent rise in temp the PSI must of crept up on me. I didnt check it untill i was on the highway and by then i wasnt getting out to lower it, anyway it may have even improved my mileage ever so slightly. I will be lowering the PSI soon as to not burn out the middle of my tire tread.
Also i said it before and ill say it agian, i drive a 2wd SS in the most extreme winter conditions and kept the stock goodyears on. I drove it every day and got by just fine. Naturaly you have to adjust your driving but still more proof that its all about the driver and not the vehicle!

i am currently on a Southeast roadtrip [Virginia to South Carolina to Florida to Georgia].
Currently, I am averaging 15.7 MPG driving at 80-90mph with cruise control and very few city street rides.
There are only 7140 miles on my TBSS and the last 1700 miles have been from the road trip.

Preach it brotha!! I'm so tired of people saying the 2WD is terrible in the snow. It's actually pretty fun and predictable. Only thing that's scary is when it starts to let the front end wander in the heavy snow drifts and the rear end starts to wiggle.
Otherwse, yeah check the tire pressure. I think mine's at 35. Ride's rather nice. I notice when I lower it down to 32, I get less MPG...hmm, or maybe it's the other way around?

To get instant mpg just hold down the arrow button on the steering wheel when your looking at the average mpg, it will show the instant and eventually reset the average.
