I know there are a lot of exhaust threads and I most likely read all of them.
I want increased performance and fuel economy.. I have a cai and tuned pcm which will be re-tuned for the exhaust. I want just a tad louder than stock on normal driving and noticeably louder when I get on it. I plan on removing the eye sore of a resonator and put on an aftermarket muffler. Looking into a magnaflow but I will take suggestions.
My questions:
What is the difference between the regular satin universal muffler and the xl series?
What size muffler should I get??
5x8, 4x9, 3.5x7 or 5x11 the XL only comes in 4x9?
Is there any other manufacture that has a product that will meet my needs better?
Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!
:thx

For what you want go with a 5x11x28 magnaflow. I would say flowmaster (love mine) but its fairly loud. Some people on here say that droning is an issue and all that, but I don't get much with my setup.

I have the Magnaflow 5x8x24 muffler on a 3" custom bent setup and it can get pretty loud at times. I shoulda went with one size larger but I may just get used to it. I like the noticable growl when driving around town and on the highway but when traveling around 35 mph, it is a tad louder than I like it...

thanks for the input... what would the xl mufflers be like??
also do i need an offset/offset, center/offset, or center/center??
also 2.5 or 3 inch, are there really problems if you use 3 inch??

it does not matter what offset you get it really makes no difference some people on here might argue it does in my experience it doesnt. as for the xl muffler i would imagine it would be larger than the normal one so it will probably imagine that it would be quieter

whats the difference from the flowmaster 50 series SUV and 5x11x28 magnaflow??
main difference is that the flowmaster is a 3 chamber muffler, the magnaflow has some sort of packing. different sound altogether
