Anyone know if the controls on the steering wheel will work after installing an in dash dvd player?

you will have to check with your installer to see if there is an adapter available for your HU. There are for some, aren't for others.

With my HU (Alpine IVA-D300) the volume control would lower the factory speakers only, not the subs. This is because the factory HU was relocated. Also, it doesn't display any change in volume on the new HU, so the only time I used it was if it got touched by accident, I'd turn it all the way down and up 20 and then control it with the aftermarket HU dial. None of the other radio functions worked from the steering wheel controls.

Do u have Bose in your LTZ?? B/c you shouldn't have lost your door chimes. The door chimes are not stored in the Bose H/U like they are w/ the non-bose H/U.

Man i had so many problem changing out the factory system....its that damn GM data bus. I lost my door chimes, steering wheel controls...i said forget it and put back the stock unit.
There may be better adaptors out on the market now, but I'm staying factory with the radio.
There are adaptors now. I got one and works great!!!
