my g/f drove my tb for about a 1/4 mile with the e-brake on....

the first time after this happened my SEL is on..... now what??

Did she mess something up?? I don't have code reader so I will have to wait till I have some free time to get it read. Guess it will be sitting in the driveway till monday :(

:( Ouch.... Another reason why you shouldn't let your GF drive your truck

Well I Fked the Ebrake once, driving around with it on (don't ask why) Long time ago...NO warning on the dash

I had to replace the emergency brake drum shoe ( I think that's what you call it, a ring shaped like horseshoe kind of)

Truck started to make a LARGE annoying rattle... comming from the back

:undecided Don't remember... that was like 3 or 4 years ago

I'm not saying that's your problem, pull the codes and see what comes up

AutoZone has it for $74.99. I would definately get the code read though, I don't know why it would throw a code for that.

I'd be willing to bet that your light isn't on because of worn shoes...but they may be glazed a little. Advance Auto has them for like 45 or so I think...although I could be wrong. I work there, I'll have to check on that again. We have what's called a "Hat" setup...where it's a regular rotor, but with a drum setup as the parking brake inside. It's really clever I think...but can give you a few problems. You may need to adjust your shoes out, if they've been worn down some; check and see if you've got tension on your ebrake handle. Good luck with it...keep us posted about your cel, I'm curious about this one.

Do a search for Parking brake, ans you'll find some pics and how-to threads on replacing the parking brake (don't try using it in emergencies :duh: )

Oh...& post your code #(s) in a new thread when you get them read (PXXXX)

You wont get a check engine light from the brakes. Only an ABS light or the parking brake indicator light. The p-brake dash light will stay on if the p-brake is not released all the way, plus you will get an audible *ding-ding-ding* every 10sec or so if you are in gear with the p-brake on.

If she could drive a 1/4 m with it on, there wasn't much of it applying braking anyway. The shoe and or cables already needed adjusting or replacing. So my guess, not much damage, but u need to inspect and replace/adjust.

I only had it pulled up just enough so that my truck wouldn't roll when shifting out of park... there was still plenty to pull!!

went to autozone and had the code read:

p1336

It must be related to me not having the case relearn done yet...:duh:

must be some weird coincidence :undecided

 You need to get the Crankshaft Variation Relearn Done...Call around to your local dealers; you shouldn't have to pay more than $10 :nono:
