Read on another forum that a poster was driving to the Moraine assembly plant to pick up his TB SS. Not enough rail cars to ship them out :duh:

do you think they'd let you tour the facility? That'd be cool to see the different stages of assembly!!

They wont let ANYONE into Moraine right now. This includes family members of workers..

I tried a couple of weeks ago. Was told that due to construction no tours at this time. :worried:

It is a pretty cool process ;) It took 22 seconds to mount the engine and trans into my SS ;)

That's my dealer's version of my delay too. Vehicle supposedly produced week of October 21 and it is still sitting at Moraine. Figure this one out: I live outside of Pgh; so the SS gets "trained" to Lordstown and then delivered by carrier. I guess things are so rosy at GM that they don't want my money quickly. Makes alot more sense for the SS to remain in their inventory for several weeks.

Ohh man, that is beat that you have to tuff it out and wait longer, I do feel for you.. My order was just placed last week, does this affect my delivery time as well? I'm hoping to get it before 05 ends :laugh:

Martin I live 30 minutes from the plant. Would be glad to drive the SS over to the Pgh area for you. You'll just need to get me back to the house here in OH. A great way to get some quick miles on the new SS. :laugh: :D

Have these shippingproblems been cleared up? I know they have at other plants.
