anyone know if they make a more powerful alternator for our 4.2l tb i was just wondering if anyone has come across one with more amps
how many amps is our current alternator?

stock one is 140-150
yes they do but they are pretty expensive!!
i was looking at 240 amp and it was $425 www.hoalternators.com (http://forums.trailvoy.com/www.hoalternators.com)

www.knukonceptz.com has them. I think they are $225.

if i go to a higher alternator do i have to worry about changing my wires or worry about my wires burning?

i wouldnt think so i would do what a lot of the audio guys talk about called the BIG 3, changing major power and ground wires

I have a 270-280 amp Ohio Generator alternator and you do NOT need to upgrade your wiring, but, IF YOU ARE RUNNING LOTS OF ELECTRONICS, I would recommend it.
