Well gang,
Dropped off my SS on Saturday at my Vette shop. :)
They are dropping her (Belltech springs), we are putting on new wheels and tires. (KMC SS Chrome wheels and Nitto 404 extreme tires)
And get this, they are replacing the stock calipers with red powercoated "Corvette" calipers. It think this will be a first here.
Of course pics to follow. I am very excited and nervous, but am hopeful that my SS will be one Bad SOB when she is done!

Kinda like having surgery. lol. We will need pics as soon as you get it back home again.
Let us know if the Corvette calipers are plug and play with your OEMs. l

Will do.
I have hopeful your answer is a big Yes.
When my Vette guru looked at the Calipers, he immediately thought they looked exactly like C5 calipers so hopefully it will be a true swap.
I guess we will see what GM meant when they advertised the SS as having "Corvette Spec" brakes.

Now you're making me think about seeing if the C6 Z51 brake assembly will bolt on to our SS. Time to do some research, let us know if the C5 kit works.

rotors would not fit with out a doubt, the fact that u would be missing a hole for the lug....hahaha...Thats what im here for, to point out the obvious...lol

LOL.... Didn't even think of the lug difference. If the calipers do work on our SS I will be able to get cost on these parts. If others are interested in saving some $ let me know.

I have a TB 4.2 with SS rims could i direct swap the rotors and calipers from a SS TB and then even maybe upgrade to the C5 if they fit?

You could, but for that much $$$ you are better getting the big brake kit that has 14" rotors and massive calipers for the TrailBlazers. Its not mentioned often as it is ~$2500 for the fronts only (another ~$2400 for the rears) but it does look nice and probably has some great stopping power.

what size are the TB SS rotors ?

No they are not.Sorry guys!
One thing I will note:c-5/c6 weights a few 1000lb less than a tbss, the pston size of the caliper is much larger in the tbss(hence the weight difference)
Good luck guys

what size are the TB SS rotors ?
Fronts are 12.8"

Fronts are 12.8"
Isn't that the same size as our 4.2L
so the cost would be in the caliper's
So you guys are saying that if i wanted to switch brakes from a TB SS to put on my 4.2 TB then it would cost less putting on 14 inch professional brakes??

I thought the 4.2L used a 12.0" front rotor......:undecided

SWB I6: 12"
LWB I6/V8 & SWB V8: 12.8"
rears are like 12" too, but with the parking brake hat they have a lot less rotor surface area.

Bummer, do you have a backup plan for the calipers or just leaving thedm stock?

Either have the stockers powdercoated or wait for an aftermarket company like stoptech to offer calipers for our application.
I bought one of those K2 do it yourself caliper paint kits, but I do not think I have the patience to do it.

I have them on mine! I really do like them and they are simple to install! I like how they clean up the caliper! I do wish the fronts covered the caliper a little better! I even made decals to go on mine!
