May 20 OH Meet-Saturday night attendees!

This thread is to augment the 'MAY 20 OH MEET' thread, not to replace it. If you are coming to Columbus on Sat. May 19 for the Sunday meet at Quaker Steak and Lube, send a post to this thread so we can get a head count. Post where you're staying (if you want) and well see if there is some sort of meeting location that would be convenient for everyone on Saturday night. I realize we have people coming from all over and most of do not know each other, but we'll break the ice somehow. If there is some sort of consensus, maybe we can make a deal with the hotel we choose and get some sort of a price break if we say we're having a certain number of rooms filled with this meet. I listed a few hotels on the map on the other thread and they are in the $90-$100 price range, but they are nice and there's a lot to do right there. There are some cheaper hotels a couple of exits away (Motel 6, Red Roof) but not as much to do.

Just to recap: Sunday May 20, 11am-3pm
Quaker Steak and Lube at I-71 and Polaris, exit 121

Trophies for Best of Show, Best Trailblazer, Best Envoy, Best SS, Best non-TrailVoy, Best Radio Setup, and Best Long Distance Award. The show is free, but a $2 donation from each vehicle will offset the awards cost. The list is growing everyday, and currently stands around 65 for the meet! Who's coming on Saturday Night?

There are tons of places to eat and drink at that exit. Maybe by next week, we'll have a head count as to what we're looking at for Saturday night. I imagine some of the local owners will be around on Saturday as well. If anyone has a hotel preference, list it so we can zero in on a location.

8 hrs? Seems pretty short, especially considering you have to drive through PA. You know you don't cross any time lines coming to Columbus so you don't pick up an hour. I'd say you're in the mix for the long distance award. See ya!

My dad works for Ohio Medical in Gurnee, IL and they have some corporate discount available @ La Quinta Inn & Suites. The daily rate looks to be $85 but that seems kinda high. I'll see what they give me.

Here is what I have so far. I have called around and the best deal is at Motel 6. Its like one or two exits away from the meet. Exit#117. The address is 1289 E.Dublin Granville, Columbus,OH, 43229 and the phone # is 614-846-9860. The rate is 45.59 for two adults, 2 double beds, and 41.99 for aone adult. The hotels that are at the Polaris exit, all money aside, will be hard to beat in both location and security. Brand new everything, hard to go wrong with that. If you need to 'stumble' back to your room at 2am (as I have done), pick from one on the map at the beginning of the meet thread. If you need a cheap room a couple of exits away, check the Motel 6 or Red Roof Inn at I-270 and Rt. 23 in Worthington. Killer mexican restaurant called 'El Alcapulco' at that exit.
