This is my first automatic, all other cars were stick..
1.) how do you launch in it?
2.) you power braking (gas+brake)?
3.) Do you leave it in drive the whole time or do you manual put it into the different gears?
4.) how do you use the traction control, when do you use it, when do you not?
5.) and when i here people say their first mod is a tune, how do i do that, do i go anywhere, or do i need to take it to only to people who tune ls2s?
sorry for all the questions, but new and am trying to learn. Thanks.

Welcome aboard!
First thing is hold in the button below the shifter for about 10 sec until it says stabilitrak is off.
1- I keep one foot hard on the brake and the other foot on the gas to about 1500rpm. Don't do this for long, not good on the tranny. Release brake-mash gas at same time. Off you go.
2-yes
3-Leave it in drive, rpm limiter is about 300 rpm higher than the factory shift points
4-Use traction control for wet and snowy roads
5- Tune is synonomous with reprogramming the computer modules, both engine and tranny. You need to get one specifically for your year TBSS. Some vendors on this site have well refined programs. You can send them your modules, which are under the hood, and they can do it and send them back. If you replace the factory cold air system with a less restrictive one, you must have a tune for that modification or your truck will be too lean.
Where abouts in the country are you?

Check with Vector in Michigan. You can buy another set of modules from the dealer and use them and keep your stockers on the shelf. However, if you get new modules they must be synchronized to your crankshaft which would need to be done by a dealer or someone with the software to do so. I think most of these places have a same day turn around time though.
