Has anybody else heard this?? I sure hope he is just an Idiot and doesn't know what he is talking about!!!:undecided

I was hoping it was done after this year, but this (http://eogld.ecomm.gm.com/NASApp/domestic/proddesc.jsp?year=2008&regionID=1&divisionID=1&type=0&vehicleID=5183&section=modelhome&page=&butID=1) site seems to show it will be built in '08.

That would be one reason. The rarer the better.

I agree, but having them available for at least 1/2 the 08 MY run makes my chance of getting one go up. But, then again I said that in 06 when the 07s were coming out, so who knows!:duh: :duh:

The GM truck ordering information is out for the 2008 model year, and the SS is alive and well. Thats the good news, no mechanical changes is the bad news. But there is a new color, metallic slate ( black I think).

That would be sweet if they only made it for two years. Might be worth something 20 years down the line or if you want to get rid of it in a few years that's a great selling point.

Actually, a program manager from GM posted something in here several months ago about an engineering change going into effect June/July for 2008 V8s -- the update was changing the viscous fan setup that isn't controlled as part of the emission system.

I don't know what that means other than he implied a software change and different fan.

I'm sorry, I thought you might notice that at the top right was the place where you could choose what truck model you wanted to spec out. Here is the direct link:

Why is it that GM seems to like killing off cool/uniqe vehicles? I am thinking: Grand National/GNX, Syclone/Typhoon, Impalla SS, maybe TBSS eventually too.

The main reason GM and other manufacturers don't make these unique vehicles is due to lack of sales. The companies make a lot more $$ on volume vehicles. And with fuel prices the way they are, mleage is gonna rule. So, bye bye SUV ( i.e. TrailVoy) and hello Crossovers (Acadia, Outlook, Enclave, Chevy version; coming soon I'm sure).

Speaking of the Acadia, why the piss did that get a factory dual exhaust!?

Still kinda doubt it. There are going to be faster and more efficient vehicles coming out in the next few years. Technology and gas prices are gonna kill our resale value. Maybe someday we will be able to retrofit our trucks to run on hydrogen. But I bet our trucks will be pretty much worthless except for the devout following. :worried:

I hear ya man. I parked next to one of these the other night and could not believe it had duals and mine had a single. Totally backwards. GM has some brain farts sometimes.
