I got bored yesterday and decided to go for it..i took off the front grille and bent a piece of 3/16 steel to mount on the two bolts for the bumper...then i drilled holes for the lights and mounted them..i had to find new grounds cuz my other mounts rusted so i the rounded the lights to the headlight mounts..i cut out the front so the lights can shine..i don't like how that looks because the lights are incompared to the chrome i want to take out the whole setup and just use the platics mounts to mount a nice peice of metal guard and paint that and the chrome over the headlights blacks so it should look like one piece

nice! that looks sweet ... did you use a dremel for the plastic cross bar?

i used a jigsaw for the plastic and chrome and a metal cutter for the plastic grille..its really easy but the chrome is very flimsy now that it is in 3 parts..i have to take it apart again to paint the metal so i'll take pictures

Totally unique look! And it's one I can't covet because it just wouldn't work on an Envoy. Cool.

i like the concept but i would do something about the finish. For me, i couldn't leave it like that, looks unfinished. :m2:
But if your happy with...cool mod:thumbsup:

roadie anything is possible..maybe actually easier for an envoy because you don't have that stupid chrome assent across the front..its just a metal bar bend at right angles to fit the bumper holes..the rest is cosmetic..
thanks for the kind words guys..its good to hear i didn't spend a day for nothing
blktbon20s nah i wanna change it..it looks nasty with that gap in pic to..im goin to take the whole chrome out and just keep the sides by the headlights and get some mesh to go across so its level with the lights..
it looks alot better with no chrome or grille but the holes in the headlights look nasty..too bad i didn't have the new lights

oh ok..i tought u were happy with it.
Theres this grill on ebay that most people think it looks ugly, but it would fit your need perfectly! Its a grill that doesn't come with the center bar. Its just a mesh grill
I'll see if i can find it

Way to go
Think it would like fantastic if you could bring the lights forward a bit, making them even w/ the horizontal aluminum piece!

thanks im lookin for something like that..i was goin to cut the frame outta the stock one and mesh it..so i could use the mounting frame but have the mesh flush with the lights
teebes yea thats the problem..to do that i would have to use brackets from teh stock bumper mounts and it would be unsecure..my plan is to take the chrome out and mesh the whole grille flush with the lights and have circle assents around the lights like someone posted for a ford awhile back..if i paint the chrome in the headlights black and have the mesh black it shouldn't look to outta place..or at least better then now with the huge ugly gap

That's some extreme modding!! I like it! You should use some body filler and full up the openings
Totally unique look! And it's one I can't covet because it just wouldn't work on an Envoy. Cool.
I think it would look good on an envoy since you won't see the gap between the grille and the chrome strip :undecided

looks awesome, like the new street scene ford grill that has the incorporated fog lights
