View Full Version : Michigan Owners...Let's Meet...But When?

Hey all Michigan Owners,

A couple of Michigan members and I have tried two or three times to put together a meet, with each time being a strikeout. I suppose the best way to get everyone on board with a meet is to get your input as to when the best time for a meet is, in your humble opinions. I'm creating this thread with the intent to turn it into a poll that will allow us to see what the majority's best time is to meet. We can then take it from there.

Here's the options that I see so far:
During the week in May
A weekend in May
During the week in June
A weekend in June
During the week in July
A weekend in July

Let's get your input!

Matt

Not that this matters much... But I will be in the Flint area from 16-27 June, home on leave.

not tryin to hijack but id like there to be a meet. im actually tryin to part out my car and since rims/lowering springs/color matching grills are a hassle to ship id want local priority.

So far, of the impressive 4 votes logged, it appears the majority votes for a meet on a weekend in June. Cool...so what weekend works for everyone?

T-BlazinOn22s

I think the Gratiot Cruise is June 16th if anyone is in the area.

I'll go to the meet if its not too far... 12.2 MPG @ $3.699/GAL is kind of an ass kicker. But all weekends are good for me except Sundays because I work nights and my week starts at 10 P.M. Sunday.

Also takin a few days off in the middle (11-14) if the votes end up in there somewhere.

P.S. Stealth: what kinda rims and coils you getting rid of?

I'm thinking a little later in the month, not 100% sure which weekends I'll be taking off for sure yet. So far the first and second weekends are booked. I'm thinking maybe one of the last 3 weekends in June, I go up to Traverse City quite a bit so most weekends I have off thats were you'll find me. But what ever works best for everyone, I'll do my best to see what I can work out with what ever we come up with. As for during the week im never doing anything unless in class or im modding something so as far as what t-blazinon22s said id be good for the 12th or 14th for sure.

I just came over from the genvibe forums (because I just recently owned a vibe) and I know that they are lookin for ppl for a bigger turnout also at their meet. They call it the 'supermeet' - the big meet of the year and this year they are inviting everyone - even if you don't own a Vibe. I believe its the saturday of July 14th at Stoney Creek Metropark....if anyone is interested...i'll give you more details....i'll probably more than likely be going...but if everyone is up for a different meet..count me in.

Sounds pretty cool. I agree with what one member said earlier...I'm up for a meet of any kind...let's just do it!

Also, has anyone from our group contacted the meet organizer? I'd be interested to see if what he needs people to bring, any admission cost, club fee, blah blah blah. I can make contact if anyone else hasn't already.

Highrider, you think these guys are gonna get all flustered when a caravan of Trailvoys rolls in? :)

Thanks for finding out and posting all the information!

Haha...one of the really active members on the site said "Good idea. As long as there no one there with spinners we'll be ok j/k....I guess if they have spinners I'll just deal with it for a few hours lol." So, hes all for it...I think everyone is looking for a larger turnout cause last year they only have 8 Vibes show up...Michigan crowd is dyin out I guess. But hopefully I wont get sick this time and I'll see everyone there :)

Sounds like somewhere around $800:eek:. So if im able to get her in and repaired by sat ill be there, but if not i might just have to show up anyways with my moms equinox with pictures of my tb:dielaugh:

I wouldn't worry about it to much. Its gonna be such a variety of vehicles, not just gonna be all Vibes from the Vibe website so I'm sure their will be a lil bit of everything..your equinox will fit right in ;) I guess afterwards now from stoney creek, there is car show going down in Mt. Clemens...I copied and pasted what the one guy said from the Vibe website.. "after the meet, there is a classic car cruise in downtown Mt.Clemens (about 20-25 minutes away from the meet) that a few of us, or everyone if they want, will be going to. Last few years they had flame thrower and burnout competitions and stuff, it was alot of fun. TONS of American muscle and alot of imports as well as bikes and everything you can think of. It's pretty close to the freeway too so if your home is south of Detroit, I-94 is right there downtown." Thats just a heads up with what is going on after the stoney meet.

I'm still in, and all fired up for it. FYI, I plan on arriving at 11AM or shortly thereafter, because I have to leave around 2PM at the latest to get to a wedding that I'll be doing.

Check out the new stickers I got just in time for the meet:

http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s213/ssmontecarlo82/Jul04_0005.jpg

By the way, that monthly Mt. Clemens Saturday night car show is really awesome, but if you aren't already in a parking spot downtown by mid afternoon, I don't think you'll be able to get in to display your ride, IIRC they shut the streets down mid-afternoon sometime. Still a cool place to walk around and take in all the machinery.

See you all Saturday!

Sorry to hear that:worried:. I'm all repaired now so you know ill be there. The fiance was thinking of comming down with me, has anyone ever been to this park before. Just checking to see if she would have enough to do cause she doesn't really get the whole trailvoy thing.

Think ssmontecarlo82 and I were the only ones that showed up. He stayed till around 2:20 and I headed out about 3, so if anyone showed up after that im not sure. And highrider2007 tell your boys im sorry I didn't really converse with them, felt a little out of place by myself after SS left so didn't really talk with them at all. I did however get some love from another member on the way down as I was driving on I75. A white tb pulled up besides me all while it was raining, rolled down his window(had tinted front windows) and mouthed "trailvoy" and gave me a . Must have seen my trailvoy.com decals, thought that was kind of cool. I don't think the meet was a complete lost cause, atleast for me. SS and I were able to chat for awhile till he had to go, after he took off the fiance and I took a cruse around the rest of the park. From there went over to the great lakes crossing mall to see what that place was all about, don't think i've been to a park or a mall that was so huge. So we both got what we wanted in the end, overall worth the drive.

ssmontecarlo82
07-15-2007, 10:34 PM
First off, highrider, sorry to hear about the death in the family. That's a tough deal man. Hope all is well otherwise.

The meet was pretty cool. The Vibe guys seem like a good bunch of dudes from the short 2+ hours I spent out there. Though it was awesome for Michblaze to come down from Bay City, I was bummed there wasn't more Trailvoy owners out there. I understand that we've all got families and obligations and stuff, but there's gotta be more Michigan owners who love their SUV enough and can find the time to come out.

Now having said all that, Michblaze has a pretty nice Trailblazer. I gotta get with him to get the contact info for the LED backup lamps. And again, it was pretty righteous for him to come all the way from Bay City to attend a meet.

Highrider, do you have the e-mail address for the local Vibe meet organizer (I think his name was Paul)? He sprung for hot dogs for everyone and didn't ask for a dime...I'd like to drop him a thank you e-mail for being so cool.

Lastly, meets like these are really good places to hang, obviously. It would have been way cool to have like even 10 Trailvoys there. I guess my question at this point is, is there enough interest among the Michigan Trailvoy community to even try and put together a meet? Paul and the Vibe guys had 4 Vibes show and some other vehicles, and he seemed reasonably happy with that turnout. Am I shooting too high if I expect a bunch of us to show somewhere (and again, I do understand that everyone has way too much going on already in their lives....it would be nice though to get some sort of feedback, either way, about meets)? C'mon all...let's get together sometime!

Michblaze02
07-16-2007, 08:38 PM
Just give me a time and date and i'll be there, think I already proved that this last meet. The weather might of had something to do with not as many coming out this time. I had already put in for a vacation day off, so I was going to do something regardless .

I am pretty bummed that I couldn't make it either. I was looking forward to it but my life got turned upside down as well. Not nearly as bad as what was previously posted, but enough to where I couldn't make it. Sorry, guys.

Here's an idea I just want to throw out there...

Every year I run an event at the Mid-Michigan Motorplex drag strip in Stanton called the Michigan GM Event (or the "M Event"...heard of it?).
Here is the event web site:
http://www.migmevent.com

I don't know how many of you are interested in racing your TBs, but if it would help facilitate a meeting, we could always do it there. I am sure there will be Trailblazers participating but you don't have to race if you just want to come and watch and hang out. The hotel parties the night before and after are always fun. So would this work? I can offer a group discount of anyone is interested. Thoughts are welcome.

:duh: Deffinitly need to lurk a little more in the meet sections in spring/summer, one of the best things about trailvoy is meeting up with fellow members and showing off your ride.

Thinking maybe sometime in the spring we'll have to start talking about when would be a good time to meet up with our group from Mich again.

Seemed like last year we did whatever worked out for the group best as far as which day on the weekend would be better.

Now I have a full time job, part time job, and part time school this year as well as getting married in June. As long as I have a good enough heads up most likely I am always in though.
