I'm going to do it :woot: In about a week I will be ordering the BDS suspension lift. I can't get tires right away, but I'll be getting 285/70r17 for my factory wheels and wheel spacers of course.

Outstanding plan, comrade! You might be looking for the body lift or reworking your fenders a bit if you end up with 33's. What are your trail plans with an XL? You might get that doggie's belly dragging on ridges.:p

I'm never afraid to use the grinder, My motto is cut first ask ?'s later:laugh: There are a couple state forests with trails, rock hills, etc. If I really get into it I might be looking at some rock sliders for the Xl. Another reason for the lift is after taking the roof rack and side moulding off it looks too long, They should of made a Zr2 package like they did for the older s-10 blazer.

You'll love it. The whole demeanor of the ride is totally different, but in a much better way. I wouldn't trade it for anything now...it's still a smooth compliant ride for the most part(granted I changed shocks at 55k miles, which is prolly before they were worn too greatly) I went with the BDS gas shocks in the rear, and the HD bilsteins up front. I also changed front (and soon to be rear) end links, and now, you feel every bump, but in a good way. You feel secure, and connected with the road, in control...despite being up higher...and when you hit a bump, it's disolves it, and then it's done, no more drama for another 40 feet after the bump. On top of that, the added clearance is wonderful.

sweet plan

:offtopic:

I took some measurements this weekend for rock sliders (Which I don't even know if the guy will do now, have not heard from him in a week) and by just taking the rocker molding off, my TB looks a hell of a lot higher off the ground...

wow instant 1/2 " lift :D

BDS used a SWB for their development, but I can't see why the kit would be any different for the EXT. The wheelbase was stretched 16", but GM would have been nuts to change the frame mounting design. But if BDS didn't do an EXT, they probably won't list it as guaranteed to work on their web site.

From what I've seen on the website, the suspension lift doesn't work for 2wd, either, but I was corrected by the geniuses at trailvoy.com!

Besides, with 12,000+ members, we *do* know the truck better. Collectively.

It should be the same as the regular trailvoy, the only thing I know is different is the XL/EXT have rear hvac with the coolant lines (hard lines) going into it.
