Just yesterday I had trouble starting our 2005 Rainier 5.3 V8 with 53k miles and then had major driveability issues...

Here are the codes the dealer said they found today;

P1682, P2176, P1516, P0161 and P0141.

They replaced an ignition switch ($39 + labor) which they said was the reason these codes came up.

Since I am a newbie to the world of codes etc. any help is appreciated.

I'd like to know if the dealer was correct in their reasoning for the problems:thx

I know the ignition switch is a culprit for no start and no key release so maybe. As far as the driveability goes I believe it also keeps current to some things like the PCM which would deffinitly cause al sorts of things to go haywire.

P1682 - Ignition 1 Switch Circuit 2
P2176 - Minimum Throttle Position Not Learned
P1516 - Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) Module Throttle Actuator Position Performance
P0161 - O2S Heater Performance Bank 2 Sensor 2
P0141 - O2S Heater Performance Bank 1 Sensor 2

Hope that helps.

The ignition module failure has been known to cause some really odd stuff to happen. Gages go all haywire, dash lights go all nuts. Its happened to alot of people.:cool:
