local dealer says i have to wait till first part of Jan if i order now. does this sound about right?

also, if a fully loaded tbss lists for 44k, how much of a discount should be expected with the red tag sale? local dealer says 4k less.

Early Jan sounds right, can't speak to the price.

Remember if you order and they tell you eight weeks you have to account for the week between christmas and New Years when all of GM is shut down.

If you really want one I would just search around for ones that are on the lot. There are many dealers around me that have them instock right now.

A place by me has one on the lot, MSRP $40,000
Red tag price: $34,739.09

That seems fully loaded with everything minus the Nav
Sun/sound
Moving pedals
heated/memory seats

Which Dlr is that? just looking to check it out, as I have one at order from my local dealer, it would be nice to see one in the flesh!

TURBOAWD: Don't mean to hijack, I would check GMBUYPOWER.COM and get a list of all local dealers and just call them to find out if or when they will have one available for you.

Build one on the chevrolet website and it will give you the red tag price. I built one that was an LS (1SB) Package with about everything else and had an MSRP of $35770 and a red tag price of $30098.74 which includes the rebate. Even if you added the higher level LT package you would only add about $3500. You can also look at inventories of dealers after you build one and get the red tag of them.

It's a dealer on Kinderkamack road, search zip 10901... there's about 3 in that range, 2 black, 1 white all at different dealers

1 black and 1 white are identical, the other black has rain sensing wipers and something else bumping it up 2k (not nav though)

well i've asked several dealers around the chicagoland area about the ss, and they all tell me that jan is the soonest i could get one.
if i try searching on the chevy site, it wont specifically allow me to search for a ss.
could you guys help me out and tell me where or what dealers have trailblazer ss in stock or coming soon? i'm looking for a awd black fully loaded truck.

why did Chevy remove the "view window sticker" option when they put up the red tag symbols?

If you are talking about on the Chevy site, you can still look at stickers. Maybe you are going to a different place but if you build one and then select Find a Chevy, a list of dealers in your area will show up. Select one and pick one of the vehicles that you want to look at and you can look at the sticker.

don't anybody waste their time with this shady dealership. they told me one price over the phone, then when i go to see it they say they want more than msrp, since they have the only truck in the area.
and then the sales manager disses his own salesman for saying he did the wrong thing(giving me a price), mind you he's been working there for 13 years.

i guess their shadiness is why there were no other customers there, and all the salesman were huddled up with nothing to do.

If this dealership is participating in the Red Tag sale, this is not allowed by GM. Only exclusion is Corvette. The dealership cannot pick and choose which vehicles to Red Tag, it is all or none.

if the tbss they had, had an msrp of around 41,200 , then what should the red tag be about? the initial salesman told me about 38,100. does the 2500 rebate still apply to this amount?

yeah, the sales manager said msrp plus a couple of thousand, and another 1000 for something else. its just bs that i drove 4 hours and got lied to when i was there.

man, someone locate me a tb ss.

As long as any generous souls with advanced powers of searching GM inventory are still in the mood...I'm in Palm Beach county (Florida, although that might seem obvious) looking for an available TBSS. Searching online really is painful, (but I still did it) I've looked through the available stock on gmbuypower.com for the 4 largest dealers near me (and two smaller), and had no luck.

Scary thing is, they all had 50 in stock...is that the max that the website can deal with? And FWIW, it blows having to open up each one (okay, each one past a certain MSRP) to see if it has the SS package.

Emailing the Internet reps of the dealers has brought me the "nope, but you could order one and get it next year" response. But I'd really like to get it now (actually, before Dec 31st), for more than just impetuous reasons.

Thanks in advance...

Michael Chevy in Chesterfield has 3 remaining. One white and one black, both visible from roadside. Not sure offhand what the 3rd is.

Lunghamer (which I'd never recommend) has 2.

Just go on www.gmbuypower.com (http://www.gmbuypower.com) and do a search.

You can do a dealer inventory search online at chevrolet.com and see GM red tag pricing and print it with the vin # of the SS you're looking at on the dealer lot. They can't **** you over on the price if you print it directly from Chevrolet!

It's time to retire our trusty Suburban and replace it with something more fun (my wife drives a Corvette convertible, I took delivery on a new Corvette coupe several months ago, and the TB SS looks like just the ticket now that both our kids are out of the house).

Anybody have magic powers to tell if Santa is delivering an available loaded blue TrailBlazer SS to a dealership in the Texas area in time for me to buy it at the Red Tag pricing?

Another way to find something is to go to various sites like Chevy.com, Autobytel etc. and ask for a quote. They will probably ask for a zip code and a way to contact you like email address. They will get back to you and usually give you a price from the internet manager.

They are out there, but I dont think dealers will trade them away since they are selling so well. If you ordered one today chance are slim to none that you would have a VIN prior to the red tag sale ending. Remember GM is closed starting close of business on December 23 until Jan 3.

So I had a few more responses to my TBSS inquiries in South Florida. One dealer (Lou Bachrodt Chevy in Coconut Creek) emailed me several bland choices in LT's and said, "The Trailblazer is not available as an S/S as yet, I sent the above information for your review."

Not available? So the TBSS pictures I've seen are all part of a conspiracy? I truly hate buying cars, sometimes.

But a local dealer in Delray said there is one in Tampa, but it has a sunroof...going to see if I fit in a regular TB with a sunroof (I'm on the tall side), and if so, I'll buy the TBSS and have it sent over.

Cheers.

I'll save you the trouble on the one in Tampa. No sunroof, just a Black LT with the Bose stereo, and the heated seats package. Priced at about $32,850 red tag. It isn't there yet though, I called them last week on it and got the "we'll call you as soon as it is on the ground". I have a feeling there is more than one person interested in this truck, including me! They also have 2 more on the way right behind it. The local dealership here in Bradenton has 4 on the way, 2 black, 1 Blue, 1 White, all completely loaded 2wd's. I agree though, I freaking HATE the car buying process!

I know the $2500 rebate is paid by the factory (though my dealer makes it sound like it's HIS money given up!), but where do the Red Tag savings come from? I'm assuming the factory also?

Sounds like we are all paying "full price" for these SS's, after Red Tag and the rebate. Has anyone gotten a dealer to give any at all? They are basically making full MSRP then! Is it because they are a brand new release, HiPo item and hard to come by right now? Makes sense. I guess I'm willing to pay $34k, because that's a fair price for what I get when compared to what I payed for my used Silverado SS. But has anyone been able to get a dealer to give any ground?

The dealer isn't getting all the money back from the factory only X% of it. So the dealers aren't getting full MSRP.
