has anyone painted the moldings on their blazer black? i cant stand how they are grey. the sideskirts and the plastic on the back of the truck are the same nasty color. it doesnt match. any suggestion on how to paint this? i figured rattle can would be best but i dont want a super glossy finish nor do i want a flat black. are there any plastic dies or anything else i can use to make these look like they came from the factory black?

Biggest issue I see painting most of that plastic is the type of plastic it is (polyethylene or polypropylene), a plastic that paint generally will not bond to for very long, if at all. GM bragged when the TBs first came out that it used a lot of recycled materials and plastics for body trim parts etc. Try and spray paint a plastic milk jug and see how the paint will not bond to it. I bought some super-special DupliColor with flex agent made for plastics in an attempt to paint the front license plate holder body-color. Paint started peeling off in a week. That kind of plastic paint will not bond to.

I covered all of my plastic with Herculiner. There is a review in the articles section. :m2:

Use Rustoleum Plasticoat. I painted mine 2 months ago and no problems so far. It looks really clean too.

Thank you. I love my truck.

Thats the one I really like!!! I have the TNF clearance lights, so I cant paint the first part, but painting the crossbars is a really good idea!! Also, where can I get some of this stuff?? Seems to work wonders IMO!!

Go to your nearest Menards. They have a couple of different colors.

They do have black, as well as red and some other colors. I think the black will match up too.

Actually just checked the leftover can.. I used PlastiCoat paint for automotive trim and plastics, not Duplicolor. Here's what happened to my license holder I tried to paint white..

Likely there's a good product that will stay put as was mentioned. But not the one I tried!
