Edge, EFILive, HP Tuners, ADM? Others?

Which one gives the best bang for the buck?

Good question. I saw Edge products makes an Evolution tuner that is supposed to work with my '07 Evoy Denali, but I don't want to spend ~$500 on it without knowing how their stuff is.

I did some research on this subject. l looked for ones that specifically supported my 5.3L TB. SLP was not sure and never called back. Several said it probably would and would not guarantee a 100% refund if it did not. I looked at HP tuner's forums and notice some excellent support from the techs at HP. I have a speed shop with dyno about 10 miles from my house that tunes with EFI live. I looked at the $$ and realized I would be tied to them for tuning.

I asked HP tuners a couple of questions. Bill responded PDQ. Jay was quite helpful about finding a resaler with inventory. Jay also answered my questions about the differences in the two levels. When Jay said the pro version does data logging with out the laptop connected it made the extra $$ worth twice as much. Jay actually called the resaler and the resaler called me. Mike at the resaler told me exactly how to order it and it shipped that afternoon. I expect my software to arrive monday or tuesday.

I purchased my tuning software based on the level of customer support I see in their forums and what I got before I was a customer.

Thanks for the info on the HP Tuner you decided to go with. What have been your impressions so far on perfromance? I assume you have switch to 91 or 93 octane, did you see much of a change in mileage?

Thanks,

So far all I have done is correct my tire size. I ordered an LC-1 wide band and it came monday. I have looked the software over and it is easy to mauver. I down loaded and printed out several threads from HPTuner to let me read them. I do not like reading detailed technical information on a computer screen. Once I get the wide band installed, I am going to get set up to data log as they recommend and then begin to make tuning adjustment.

HPTuner is quite powerful and is definately for those willing to spend the time tuning.
