I bought an 06 SS used and to my knowledge it has every option, including the sensing wipers. My problem is that I can't seem to get them to work. I have read that they work on the first 3 speeds of the wipers, but when I turn them on they never go completly off, they just delay like normal. What am I doing wrong, I do have the "eye" looking thing to the right of my rearview mirror, that is the sensor correct?
thanks for any input.

on your windshield do you have a little black disc mounted near the rearview?
kinda has little black dots around it?
if you do then you indeed have rain sensing wipers.
Try to keep this area of the windshield clean , its kinda of a light and motion sensor, it picks up tiny little droplets on the windshield.
Sometime bugs or dirt on the glass with set it off.
The first couple settings adjust the sensitivity on the sensor.

The "eye" is likely the sensor.
My rain sense worked wounderfully until I had to get the wiper moter replaced.
Since then, the rain sense works like a normal intermittant wiper most of the time.

You could have a problem with the windshield wiper motor itself.
Make sure your settings are on delay; low & high will work as any other.
I've also heard that tint on the windshield or stuff hanging from the rearview can cause the sensor to work improperly :undecided

Yes I do have the black disc, the "eye", and nothing is hanging from the mirror. How long once you initially turn them on does it "sense" that there isn't any rain and turn off by itself?

If you turn them on (leaving them in one of the delay positions for the rain sense feature) without any water on the windshield (on a nice, dry day), the wipers should only do one sweep then stop.
If they keep running (like there is no rain sensor), I'd bring it into the dealer & have it checked out

I have the rain sensor and it works great ... except the occasional single swipe when I hit a bug or something. I had never had this on a vehicle before and think its pretty cool ... although not sure if its really a necessity!

Yeah, the rain sensor is a really neat option!
Just be sure to turn it off before you go to clean your windshield while the vehicle is running... :nono::thumbsup:
BTW, first post.... Hi!

Yep, this has been discussed before. Just unplug it from the sensor. The wipers will default back to delays.
