Looking for some tires, 275/45/20 that won't cost an arm and a leg. Out of these 4 tires what would you buy, and why?

I had a set of the Yokohama Geolandar HT/S and they were awesome. I shopped around for a month but couldn't find any cheaper price than tires.com. Try them and I think you'll be surprised. Most of their tires are shipped free. tires.com and discounttiredirect.com are the same guys.

Those Generals have pretty good reviews at Tire Rack. I'd take those based on the reviews there. Toyo Proxies s/t look good and people seem to like them they aren't too much either.

You probably already seen them but here they are

Belle Tire?

I have 265/50/20 Nitto 420s' on my 2wd SS. Don't know if they make them in a 275/45/20 though...

I have Hankook's on my truck 275/45/20 and they are a nice tire. 420 treadwear and a nice aggressive looking tread.. I have run Hankook on 3 of my cars and liked the results.. But I have heard a lot of good things about Toyo Proxes. So its your choice..

I like the Hankooks better than the Goodyears. The best price I found was here...roadway tires (http://www.roadwaywholesaletire.com/). They are local to me, so I was able to pick them up.

$130.00 for Hankook with mount and Balance included. Sounds like a good price to me.

I've had experience with both the GoodYear and Hankook tires.

The GoodYear are one of the least expensive tires in the 275/45-20 sizing, but are horrible tires, lousy grip in cold weather and outright dangerous in even a dusting of snow or cold wet pavement. They also produced an annoying hum on most road surfaces.

The Hankooks, which can be had for a similar price as the GoodYears if you shop around, are outstanding. No louder sounding than the stock Cross-Terrains, VERY good wet traction (even in cold weather) and commendable traction in the white stuff. - I've run mine for 2 1/2 years now, including two winters and haven't had a problem. Unlike the Goodyears, if you break a rear tire loose, the back end doesn't come flying around. Its a gradual loss of traction and they regain their grip almost immediately.....feel much safer than the Goodyears in inclimate weather and easily controlled.

The Hankooks also come with a free road-hazzard warranty for the first 25% of the tread life and in a pinch you can pick up a replacement at Pep Boys, who also carry them. (Haven't had to, but I noticed they've been carrying them for around a year now).

well i finally decided on tires, Hankook Ventus ST for 130.99 a peice mounted and balanced. sounds like a good deal to me. I also went online to there website and found a coupon for $20 off a set of 4.

$500 + tax not to bad!

If anyone is in the central pennsylvania area I would check these guys out!! CJ's Tire (http://www.cjtire.com/) This is where I got my tires.
