Alright so on some of the newer cars , i have seen it on some of the new mustangs so this has a thin piece of plastic that covers some of the front end you can barely see it.. So is this the new bra? Kind of like this one seen here. (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevy-Trailblazer-02-06-Invisible-Paint-Protection-Bra_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ50457QQitemZ8017296 082QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW) So my question anyone tried it? Is it worth it?

Ive never owned it, but it came on my buddies VW gti 337. From what i seen it worked quite well. Ive always wanted something like that on my car because he never got any rockchips that were deep enough to hit paint, just plasted (really important to have if u happen to have fiberglass bumpers).

The stuff i've heard of was made by 3M, its like the film they use for tint, just clear, and goes on the outside. If you call up some local tint shops i'm sure some will have heard of it.
Too all, I have an 05 LT Black loaded. I had this 3M Paint protectent installed about 2 weeks after the purchase and I can tall you that it works great. I have done some long road trips and have no bug gut stains or chips.
The package I bought coves the lower bumper, top of bumper, the mid grill(emblem area) the hood for a nonimal cost. Also, I had it installed on the headlights.
I would recommend buying this and have in proffesionally installed....you cant go wrong.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did it set you back? I was quoted 450 installed and thought it seemed kinda high, and after reading magazines about installing it, it seems simple enough to do myself.
I had the 3M clearbra installed on my 03TB back when it was new for around $300 (bumper inc). 2 years later I'm still debating on if it was worth it or not.
Instead of having chips on the car, I have them on my clearbra. It starts to peel in the area where it is chipped and the area looks kind of foggy. Yes, I used the 303 stuff as directed.
Here is a recent picture of the TB from a distance and a 8 month old one from closeup.

I'm still debating if I should put it on my Denali or not.
I would recommend putting on mud flaps if you go down dirt roads and a set of sidebars. The ones on my TB have worked great over the last 2 years with barely any damage behind the wheels.

wow the line is realy noticeable!
That picture was taken about 3-4 feet away so it is notieceable from that distance. And it all depends on the angle from the distance.

Steve02slt I'll find out for you, the price may differ from dealer to dealer. I can send a picture out to you of how it looks.

Now I just use Zaino. That takes care of worrying about leaving wax behind.

Would it be a horrible idea to install it on the roof? My buddy's car started to oxidize near the back of his roof and I am worried it will do the same on my car. I heard it happens a lot in FL, especially near the beach, i think. I was looking into myself then stopped, but I am rethinking it. I have a friend who owns his own shop in Miami. Might give him a call very soon:yes: .

I have had these on my last 2 trucks (not my Trailblazer). On my '97 Silverado I went with the 3M brand. It was a little pricey (don't remember how much) and it still great when I traded the truck for my '99 Silverado. When I had it installed on my '99 the installer decided to save me a few $$$$ even though I told him not too (same guy that put it on the '97). Within a month it looked like crap. I wasn't and still am not happy with it. Even though it is 6 years old now it is still there but it is so foggy and bugs on it that I can't get off or if I do it hazes it looks like crap. I ended up putting a traditional bug shield to cover it up. I also noticed this was a generic one and he had to cut to fit and he actually scored my paint vs. the 3M being custom fit and you just applied. Needless to say, I haven't been back to buy anything from this installer. When I bought the Trailblazer didn't even look at the clear films, I just found a normal bug shield I liked and stuck it on and haven't looked back.

Hi Everyone,
My first post. I picked up an 06 TB last weekend with the red tag sale promo and now part of the TB family. I too am looking to install some protective film. I found out about Armorglove when I was at the Inifiti dealer shopping for my wife's car during the summer. They were offering this film protection as an add on. I was told these tend to have less "yellowing" due to sun's UV rays. Unfortunately they do not have it for 06 TB, but they do have it for previous years.
