Hi new to forums. I got a 07 TB LS past november and i love it. I havent really got to see hw much power and speed i can get out of it since i am always go thanks to the navy. My question is if TBs have a governor like some ford cars, that will engage the governor once they hit 105 mph.

I'm not sure of the answer; but most manufacturers will govern the vehicles based on the maximum speed of the tires that were delivered on the vehicle http://www.unixboard.de/vb3/images/smilies/sm-nachdenk.gif

Yes. The fuel is cut off at about 106 mph. Experienced this first hand.:yes:

I just found this out this past week as well. All though it doesn't jerk like my grand prix at 108 when the fuel cuts off. The TB just simply humms at that speed and will not go any faster.. I often wonder how others get it to go faster... not that I will do it again.. I know that if you get a tune its possible to over ride this.

I believe that a tune from PCMForless will remove the gov? Anyone know for sure?

I know in EFILive for the LL8s with the P10 PCM (aka 02-05 I6s) I can remove the limiter and have done so. Pegged the speedo at 120mph and then pulled for another 10-15s before shutting down. Now I know for the 06+ LL8s (P12 PCM) PCM4Less uses HPTuners as EFILive doesnt have the cals out yet and Im almost 100% sure they can pull the limiter as well.

I know Alvin has said he has a problem with some of the newer trucks and the Extended ones where he sets it at 150 mph however the anti lock brake system has some kind of programming that interferes with it's removal.:undecided
Best results are on early SWB models.

But neither V8 has this problem thank goodness.:cool:
