whine noise fixed

Took my '05 TB to the dealer today for engine whine. They put a new alternator and tensioner pulley on ,noise is gone. $662. Also rotated tires , oil change,serviced transfer case. My TB has 76000 miles on it and it's beginning to remind me of the Chryslers I drove before it. They all (I had 5 new mini-vans in 10 years) started to come apart at about 75000 and were junk at 120000. The question is , should I expect the same from my Chevy? I had hoped it would be better.Please some encouragement. By the way , I checked out all the threads about the noise before I had it fixed and knew what was wrong before I took it in. I appreciated the help.

Just bought mine used 140000km (87000 miles approximately) and previous owner followed all service guidelines and it drives like new...

I, too have had your luck with Chryslers, but my TB has 79,000 miles on it and it is running perfect. I also have a 94 Chevy Astro EXT with 160,000 miles on it and the only thing that has ever been done to it is idler arms and an alternator. Still original drivetrain and runs perfect. :thumbsup:

my voy has 88000 miles and my chevy g20 I just sold had 216000 Im very confident in there engines

I have 51000km. The drivetrain seems like new as it idles so smooth and drives like a dream. The body and other trim peices piss me off. at 30000km it started rattling in the doors and the edge of the front fascia came loose for some reason and rattles even more. If GM just spent a bit more time on the small things....
