Does anyone know how to turn the traction control off so that it only comes on when you push the button instead of everytime I spin the tires

I assume u mean turning it off and keeping it off even though u have stopped and restarted the engine. There is a procedure in my manual, but it is for 2 wheel drive vehicles (it was not available on 4 x4 trucks. So, I don't know if my procedure will work 4 u. Look in ur manual or here online under the resource section.

you puch and hold the button under the shifter handle until the light on the dash flashes then its all off...people have to search links before they post
